Bakersfield High School
Senior: I was a new student to Bakersfield High School this year, my senior year, and the teachers and students have all been so kind. My counselor was very helpful during my application process, and the attendance ladies, security, and BHS staff has all been so welcoming. BHS is one of the oldest schools in Bakersfield, my grandpa on my mom's graduated from BHS in 19, and my grandma on my dad's side graduated from BHS in 1975. It has a deep history, and you can feel the history just being on the campus. Many of buildings are original, and that was one thing that drew me to this school. The Harvey Auditorium, which houses the theatres, and many of my classrooms, is a place I grew up performing in since I was 6 years old. It has always felt like home to me. I would also say BHS is very diverse in every way! Economically, ethnically, a wonderful mix of every kind of student! I have loved going to BHS.
