Middle School Student: This school has prepared me not only for high school but has taught me college readiness as well. All of the students' scores are flying, and it's no surprise with the great teachers. Even the poorest of students here go on to be above average in high school. I always look forward to school events, and there are lots of opportunities for parents to get involved and students, as well, to volunteer. They have a bullying report system that helps you submit an issue through the website that has been of service to me and many of my friends. Some students that attend Emmons don't realize how lucky they are to attend this school, so don't be surprised by some bad ratings, people often try to compare us to the larger Antioch Upper-Grade School, which is nicer facility wise, but not academic. All in all, I'm greatful to be a student here.

Alum: At Antioch Upper Grade School, I recently started helping out with the boys volleyball program, getting a chance to check their facilities after 4-5 years and allowing myself to recollect on the environment that has been put into place. Therefore, I strongly believe that the school culture and extracurricular activities are very strong, allowing students to easily become involved in something that gets them with friends and/or the facility itself.
That being said, the administration is a bit unstable and questionable in their activities. Recently, a past principal resigned from his position due to "family concerns", which was later to be found questionable based on his involvement in other motives. Additionally, much police involvement has been correlated in the last year or so, creating a different sort of environment and ultimately messing with the general ambiance that a middle school should have.
