Freshman: This is my first year at CSW and, so far, it has been wonderful! I am being challenged with my work while being given the right amount of assistance and support from teachers. They provide many opportunities for their kids through their clubs and resources (though mainly focusing on science and math; they have no resources for arts). Senior: Newark Charter School is a great school. They have great academics as they have great teachers and great variety of courses to take. The school is also very diverse in both their student and teacher body. The school also provides a variety of clubs and activities and even if your club isn't there, you can create one and start leading it. Our sports are also good, but we aren't as competitive versus other schools around us. One thing I would improve is our involvement in sports as they should be more competitive and build facilities to help our athletes. The food that they provide here isn't good even though it is free, the school needs to find a different alternative that tastes better and that is actually edible even if it means charging for it.... Senior: I love the academic opportunities at Conrad! The specialized, STEM-based career pathways have given me an advantage going into college, supplying me with knowledge and experience on subjects that are not available at other schools in our district. It is a very tight-knit community, and very supportive, as there are always teachers and administrators around to help you with whatever questions or issues you have. Junior: My experience with MOT Charter School so far has been great! The staff and teachers at MOT are very understanding and help you throughout your struggles. They ensure the students are getting the best education. I attended MOT Charter High school since my 9th grade. I am now a junior at MOT, currently halfway through my 11th grade of high school. All of the teachers I've had until now teach very well and value the time with students. Junior: This school has great pathway classes and the clubs and sports are perfect! There are some troubled kids but they don’t distract you or take away from your learning. Their music programs like band choir and theatre are all great! It’s a great was to be social and make friends while also doing something you’re having fun with. Senior: Throughout my three and a half years (estimate) at Middletown High School was better than I thought! The teachers that I had were very calm, collected, and some even liked to lighten the mood with jokes here and there. The counselors are amazing! As they continue to list out opportunities for Middletown students. When the pandemic hit during my last half of Junior year the staff adjusted very quickly, and was able to adapt to virtual learning. The teachers encouraged lots of participation, asking questions, and treating virtual as a normal classroom environment. Now, half way through my Senior year, we are back to in person, and once again staff did really well with adjustments. If I were to fix one thing about Middletown High is parking. In my opinion, I think Seniors should get the parking spots first and have the Juniors that can drive get what is left over because I think it shows respect. Senior: I like the opportunity the school gives through their career path program. I got to choose a career I wanted to pursue and stick to it for all of high school. This gave me the opportunity to start working senior year at a job that is in my field while attending school at the same time. I feel like I got ahead in the sense that I gained experience through my job and was able to use the knowledge I gained towards it. Now, when I begin college I will feel more at ease knowing that I can progress in the job I already have. I would’ve loved if the school put more importance on letting students know about Del Tech classes that are offered at a lower price.
