Senior: Mass Academy is an amazing school! The collaborative environment and assignments that are geared toward challenge and real-world applications make being a student here an inspiring and enjoyable experience. The academics are top-notch and challenging, and everyone will help each other. With the small size of ~ 50 students per grade, you get to know each of the faculty members and your classmates personally. The faculty offer a lot of support with independent projects and the college application process. Senior year at WPI prepares you well for college. Although you are always busy as a junior, most of the projects are truly enjoyable because you get to work in a group, including when designing an app and assistive technology device. There are also great classes in the humanities and language, so students gain skills in math and science as well as writing, English, history, and Spanish/French. Alum: As my neighborhood public elementary school, it was small but satisfying. The education I received from West Tantack was great, and it was rare to hear parents complain about their child's class or teachers. My only complaint would be that when I attended, the school lacked diversity, although the English curriculum would be inclusive and have stories and projects of all different walks of life. Senior: As a senior in high school, I now consider Doherty Memorial High School my second home. As much as I adore the school now, it wasn't always so great. I think freshmen year was when I didn't really like the school. I was new, but I found it hard to make friends, unlike other students who seemed to make them so effortlessly. As a person of color, I found it hard to make friends during freshmen year because it was almost like every ethnic group had its own little clique while I wasn't a part of any. I'm Indian, and in Doherty, there aren't many who are Indians so I felt a bit left out. I guess that's why I am giving this review 4 stars instead of 5 because the diversity wasn't that great but nevertheless, it was good enough. I am now happy with the friends I made over the last 4 years and if I could start my high school experience all over again, I would. Time went by so fast, I'm glad I enjoyed my time here.... Alum: Overall, I enjoyed attending Worcester Technical High School and having the opportunity to be exposed to the various trades and possible career paths that I could take. Sophomore: My experience at Burncoat Senior High School was exceptional. The teachers treated students with respect, disciplined them when required, and always pushed us to become the best people we could be. The teachers consistently enforced our school motto, "be safe, respectful, and positive," which resulted in better behavior from students overall. My teachers made the classes fun, memorable, and original; they used different testing and grading techniques, which helped me learn the material rather than memorize it. The only possible complaint I could give is regarding the cafeteria food. While eating cafeteria food at Burncoat, I often got frustrated because the only vegetarian option at most times was sun butter and jelly or sun butter and fluff sandwiches.
