Bard High School Early College
Junior: In a nutshell, Bard High School Early College reflects its motto exactly... it is "a place to think." Both inside and outside classes, there are intellectual, stimulating discussions taking place between faculty and students. The Bard experience is unique in that everyone takes their education very seriously and actually enjoys learning! That being said, the work (and workload) is rigorous, challenging, even competitive, and requires a lot of time and energy. This means that students can collectively become exhausted, stressed, obsessive, competitive, and overwhelmed. As a result, many students tend to not prioritize socializing or partying. Rather, they have a few close friends but their life is mainly concerned with schoolwork and extracurriculars. The faculty are similar in nature as well. They are passionate, dedicated professors who love to learn and teach. Many, however, are so invested in their profession that their social life is neglected. Overall, Bard is what you make it!...
