Niche User: Sunset high is a continuation high school. There are many classes to choose from, and you work at your own pace.
First of all, the teachers were so wonderful. Each and every teacher I had while at sunset changed me in some way. They were so helpful, and so happy to be there. Unlike other teachers in high school I loved talking to them and had great relationships. They were always there to help and actually sit down and teach the information. We had "advisors" to keep us on track and check up on us. I loved it. It was someone who knew your personal side, and also wanted to see you succeed. Like I mentioned before, sunset was non traditional so their workload and curriculum was much different. Each student was enrolled in different classes at different times and working at our own pace. It was very individual and you finished work at your own pace. This truly helped me in my academics. I was given a set amount of work, and when finished, you received more, took exams when you were ready and then would finish a course with an exit exam. It was incredible. Once I got going I truly couldn't stop. I finished high school almost a year early. Although there was a heavy workload, I enjoyed finishing the work. It was so rewarding to be learning, but also enjoying the process of doing the work.
I could truly go on and on about how wonderful sunset's curriculum was for me and other students.
