Senior: BASIS Tucson North is overall an amazing school, with so many opportunities for preparation for college. However, there seems to be a disconnect between the administration and students, which can lead to issues such as a strict technology policy that makes classes such as AP research much more difficult than they should be. Also, the school is great in terms of its STEM and history classes, in which the amazing teachers keep classes engaging and help students actually learn the material. Senior: University High School is a great shool for several things. If you are interested in music, dance, or any of the arts, it's a great choice. If you want access to many college resources and oppurtunities, it's a good school for you. If you are interested in clubs , it's a good school for you. The biggest problems are with the sense of community, which is great in cells, but at large is rather weak, as well as the actual facilities and resources (instruments, tables, bell system, etc.) themselves which are very run down and quite frankly way out of date.... High School Senior: At my high school, the academic requirements would be considered rigorous and overwhelming by most. While yes, this would be fairly true, as 6 APs are required to be taken and most take around 10, it is all for the preparation of higher level academic work, which, as I have heard from alumni of the school, is definitely worth it. Although this work is difficult, the teachers and upperclassmen are always willing to help with any problems encountered, which helps create a closer knit community and a positive atmosphere. While it does eat up a bit of time, as all classes are either AP or Honors classes, this taught most of us time management. Also, many may worry about the amount of sleep, but they are just classes, they have lots of homework at some times, and little at others, and sleep is usually cut due to social media and games, not class work.... Niche User: Its a really good school they get a lot of homework the problem is that i think its a little too much for the kids especially right now duing the outbreak there getting a packet of 70 pages due in one week and adding online work with it i and that's only for 2nd grade i think its a lot of pressuere.... Parent: We have had great experiences academically, with administrators, teachers and handling behavioral issues. We have seen vast improvements on my child’s education, drive to learn and personal growth expectations. They do not tolerate bullying; and they hold my child accountable for misbehaving. Behaviorally, they have provided resources to my child to help grow into a respectable person and make better decisions.
