Alum: I loved the fact that the classes were hard, the work was all encompassing, and that I would rather donate to my middle school than to Caltech. That should say more than anything I write. I imagine, much like every other school, things have gotten worse and the curriculum has gotten easier. The teachers weren't anything special but at least there were no "coach teachers" like one would have in highschool. Was surrounded by the smartest kids I'll ever be surrounded by, although many of them probably had parents that didn't push them to their full potential (which would explain why the majority ended up at Virginia tech). Still better than caltech. School actually cares about academic rigor. You can tell by the fact that everyone takes the same hard classes and no one has ever tried to tell me to take fewer or that it's okay to not be perfect. It's not. Was definitely the best school in the world when I was attending. Wish they didn't have to get a new building with normies...... Read 20 reviews

Senior: Green Run Collegiate was the perfect school for me to attend during high school. It is located inside of the same school that I am zoned for, placing me in an environment where I was familiar with lots of the other students. They have always pushed me harder to strive and be the best student I could possibly be. They have great staff members who I can easily speak to and feel very comfortable asking questions and talking about my life too. The teachers are also very caring and made it very easy to build relationships with them. They have a 100% acceptance rate into college and also provide students with a lot of outside learning opportunities instead of staying in the classroom. Middle School Student: I have gone to this school since kindergarten and it was an over all good experience. It is a small school so the grades only have about 60 kids in them, so everyone becomes friends at the end. There almost no bullying, and all of the kids have everyone else’s back. The teachers really prepare us for high school, and if we don't understand something, we can get one on one time with them. Freshman: I am a freshman in this school and this school has a bad reputation but some of the teachers are good and like to help me with my work and get ready for college. They also give me confidence in achieving my goals, with problems that bring me down and compliment me every time I get a college email. The students there are the reason why the school has a bad reputation and bad reviews, but I ignore them and continue focusing on my work and working harder and smarter for my goals. My counselor and Case manager also help me determine my GPA, bad friendships, and which college is right for me.
