Senior: The teachers at Dsst: Byers High School become close friends/family. I love that my teachers cared for each and one of my classmates, and took the time to know us personally. This type of relationship is great, since it makes it easier to ask for help and better advocate for yourself. To add on, there are many options for classes to take in order for each student to be challenged at a reasonable level. There are many activities and extracurriculars to join, and even opportunities to start your own club! Here at Byers inclusivity and respect are highly encouraged, there are many affinity/cultural clubs open to the whole student body. Senior: Very good school with rigurous and challenging courses. Supportive and attentive staff members as well as good school mates. Lots of club and sports opportunities and easy access to resources. I haven't had any issues with the school, and I have been going to Conservatory Green since middle school. Built really good relationships with other students and was given lots of good opportunities, especially when it comes to college. They are very big on college readiness and start preparing you for it as early as 6th grade. They have lots of different programs and field trips that give you the opportunity to connect with different colleges and to just get a feel for the college life. There is a lot of diversity, and all cultures are celebrated as well as respected. The students usually get along very well. Parent: Our daughter will graduate this year. I can't stress enough how great Quest has been the past 8+ years, it's been everything a school can be and she has thrived here; academically and socially. It's the equivalent of going to a quality private school, without the cliques, elitism and lack of diversity many have. Diversity is not only tolerated and accepted, it's rightly seen as a positive. The world is multicultural, education should be too. Academically, students are treated as individuals, while maintaining minimum high standards. Our daughter has been challenged in a good way, stretch goals are given and were achieved each year. She's already doing high school levels in math, science and literacy. Parents volunteer, great way to connect with the school. No bullying. Attendance is strictly enforced. Teachers are approachable. If you have a chance to send your kid to Quest, find a way to do it! Junior: Personally, I am very satisfied as a student here at KNDLA. The teachers are amazing, who help the students out with anything, big or small. The students there are also very helpful, organized and gratifying. There are countless things that I could say about this amazing high school, and its people. The school culture is wonderful and its community is very diverse. Academically speaking, this school awards students with the highest honors for academically exceeding expectations. Senior: My experience was Victory Prep Academy was one I will remember for the rest of my life! The teachers as well as the students are the most kind and understanding people. There was never a time I felt disrespected or unsafe. Everyone in that building is like a family and there isn't another high school I would have preferred to go to. Although there isn't a variety of sports and outside activities at VPA, I did my part and went to all the games I was able to show my school spirit that way. The best part about my high school is that its a very small school and I was surrounded by classmates I have known since first grade. Alum: DSST: Cole is a school not only that teaches its students the importance of teamwork, communication, and prepares them for college; it is also a school that ensures that you get the most opportunities for programs offered outside of the school, SAT prep, and even aids in applying to college and ensuring that you get as many scholarships as possible in order to pay as little as possibly for any and all colleges. They helped me develop skills that not only made be a better student, but a better person as well. Each teacher wants what’s best for their students and they work even outside of the classroom to ensure that each student has an understanding of the material that is being taught. They may seem strict with their required office hours (when students need it) but they truly want each student to have as many opportunities as possible. Works Here: I have taught at charter around Aurora, and this charter is by far the best run school I have had the opportunity to work at. The board manages money better than other charters, supports their teachers and overall is in tune with what is going on at the school. The admin are fair, amazing educators, and overall supportive of staff and students. There seems to be a very low retention rate with teachers as well, which is a good sign for a charter. Their specials are taught by legit a coach, artists, musician, and technology teachers. Kids are engaged, supported and overall are amazing kids. I love working for this school!... Read 2 reviews

Parent: RMSEL is an incredible school. We have had kids in the school for a decade and they are all thriving. Being a smaller school there are fewer clubs/activities than at larger schools, and the sports programs are limited, yet they still have options. I'd like to see a better music program with continuity in the teaching as well as a greater emphasis on arts as creativity is the foundation of problem solving. The expeditionary, real–life learning environment is second–to–none and my kids are learning valuable skills that go way beyond the classroom. I highly recommend RMSEL. Administration and leadership are always working toward a better environment and experience for the students. Junior: What I enjoy about William Smith High school is that they really represent their motto, "We are crew, not passengers". William Smith shows this with their project-based classes, volunteer days, crew days, academic conversations, and excellent educational resources. William Smith is truly a unique educational experience. However, it would be great if teachers got feedback on the project-based classes and had a poll to see what classes kids are interested in learning about. Works Here: VCS East is a great place to go to school. Classes are small and inclusive, and the school has a strong positive vibe. Both VCS East and VCS West have undergone tremendous positive change over the past few years. All teachers are certified or highly qualified now. VCS is also independent of it's previous ACCO administration, which has helped significantly. Staff morale is strong and turnover is low. VCS East set a record for enrollment in 2020-21, and has again set a new record for enrollment in 2021-22. I love working here and I fell strongly that the school has strong curricula, is wonderfully diverse, is safe for all students, and through the emphasized VCS character program, students (and staff) are treated with respect....
