Middle School Student: I am a student at Greene myself , and I love it there! Even though the school campus is pretty small, they have so much things going on every single day! I expecially love band. Our band director is a very nice and interesting person that always gives us good tips and makes the whole class much more fun than others. I always enjoy being in this class and in this school. ( Yet I sometimes wish we had more music competitions like marching band stuff going on more often) So far I have not seen any problems (bullying, violence, etc.) in my school and if there was, our teachers and administrators always helps us in a helpful way. There are also many places you can go to after school with your friends near by, so whenever we have a minimum day at school and we wan't to go somewhere, we wouldn't need to bike somewhere far away to go have fun! Junior: Absolutely amazing school! The teachers actually care about students' success and do everything in their power to help students achieve their goals. And, the classes are small, which is amazing! Most teachers provide meaningful work that'll help students later in life. The office is super helpful in schedule changes and any problems you have. My academic counselor is super helpful in picking out colleges and helping me construct my college path. The campus itself is clean and nice, and the students are all very welcoming. I wish there were more clubs and awards like the larger schools in the area. For example, we don't have NHS, or any organized varsity and JV teams. But, you are always welcome to start your own club if you want! This school has really prepared me for college, as I've gotten a taste of college classes. The school culture is positive, and everyone pushes you to do your best. I haven't seen much parent involvement, but there wasn't a need for any.... Read 11 reviews

Senior: Denali is a good school to choose if you’re looking for a support structure from teachers. However the students are relatively cliquey and it could be hard to make friends. In my experience Denali caters mostly to future STEM majors who plan on enrolling in a 4 year university and has little to no liberal, visual, or music arts focus. Denali also doesn’t provide sufficient resources for students who choose to take a less traditional career/after high school path, though this may change, as they’ve only had two senior classes so far. The teachers are passionate about their students and actually do care, but teacher retention is not Denali’s strong suit. Despite all this, it’s still a million times more preferable than traditional public school as there is far more support available from teachers, the school is flexible, classes are smaller, resources are easier to come by, and they teach you much more about adult life than a public school would.... Junior: I love Everest because it is highly a small school! It gives me the opportunity to reach out to my teachers, getting one on one help, and overall create relationships with them. It is definitely a college prep school where we are surrounded by my technology and playlists that help us independently study on our own. We have a tradition every year where all freshman, sophomore, junior, and seniors go on a camping trip and create community bondings! It is diverse which makes me feel more like at home since I am from East Palo Alto and not Redwood City. They give the best elective classes that are UC Approved, for example, Ethnic Studies, in which a few schools don't really include. I am in my Junior year and had spent the last 2 in a half years has an unweighted GPA of a 4.0. Everest gives all students the opportunity to be in AP classes to give them the challenge of their education. Overall, it is a great school and can't believe I am leaving in less than 2 years!... Senior: Design Tech High school is a decent school. The biggest draws are the intersession system, the concurrent enrollment system, and the excellent campus. The intersession system is a two week period that happens 4 times per school year. During this time, the student takes half their day for a design thinking course and the other half for their elective course. The concurrent enrollment system allows students to freely take courses at the three local community colleges, Skyline, CSM and Cañada. The school has some flaws mainly pertaining to student voice in the school's administration, and the lack of organized sports. Overall the teachers are passionate and provide a good explanation of their respective topics. In order to thrive at this school, it requires a good deal of self direction and motivation. If you are active and passionate, then this is a place where you can go as far as you want, just be invested in your own education and you will thrive here.... Read 81 reviews

Junior: In my experience at Tide Academy, it's really nice not gonna lie, to be honest at the start I wasn't sure I wanted to go there but by the time passed the school got better even though the time passed we had some obstacles but we still made it and until now the school is great something I love about the school is the community because you can it small and you really get to know everyone although everything is good I would like to see a change like for the elective classes it would be amazing if we could also have a music class and not just art....
