Parent: We are very happy with our kids’ experience at Milken. Teachers and the administrators really care about the kids, and our kids feel it. My daughter found her passion at a young age because Milken offers architectural and design classes that start at middle school and continue through high school. My other daughter loves the music and performing arts program. There’s something for everyone here. Kids have a rigorous workload as this is a highly academic school, but there’s so much more they teach. Kids learn to question, to understand the ethical implications of their actions and how to make a positive influence on our world so they can surpass us. They get all this plus a great Jewish education taught in a way that is relevant to today. I highly recommend Milken Community School!...Read 53 Reviews

Parent: Our child has been at Larchmont since kinder and has thrived. He went to the elementary Fairfax campus, a smaller campus with spacious classrooms, and he has loved the bigger Selma campus too. The leadership works hard to create an accessible and friendly atmosphere for the students and parents so there is a strong sense of community. The admin is collaborative and value parent input. The teachers are nurturing and attentive and know when to give students more help or more of a challenge. There are many enrichment classes (art, music, gardening, sports teams, band), a social-emotional curriculum and clubs. Most kids eat the (optional) lunch prepared in the Fairfax kitchen and is SO good. At Selma, our child has delved deeper into academics and developed new interests like government and digital media in clubs. We have seen his intellectual curiosity and independence grow and we look forward to the La Fayette Campus!...Read 89 Reviews

Parent: I have 4 kids that went through WISH Elementary and now 2 are at WISH Middle and 2 are at WISH Academy HS. WISH has been an amazing experience for my kids and us as parents. The teachers and staff care about the kids and families and really build a community. The school is far more diverse (in terms of socio-economics, race, neurodiversity, physical ability, culture, learning style, etc.) than other westside schools and that has huge benefits for it's students. I feel like my kids' time at WISH has laid a strong foundation for whatever my children choose to do in the future...Read 11 Reviews

Junior: What I enjoy most is the fact that no boundaries are put between subjects or students. All students can explore the same subject and yet still learn something. They have done an excellent job at involving the arts in our academics, and it has made me understand certain topics more than I used to. What I would change would primarily be how we are prepared for college. The school does fulfill a lot of requirements for us, however we can't add much for extracurriculars, and resources are pretty rare...Read 41 Reviews

Freshman: My experience at King Drew Medical High School has been very good. Even though my first 9th grade year has been on zoom, there good parts about this school that I love. The teachers love the engage with you and do care about how you may be feeling. When you need help, the school lets teachers host office hours. Office hours are teachers giving a separate class after school for any students that need clarification on something or are confused about the lesson that was taught to them. It is very diverse and you get to see many students of different colors and backgrounds. King Drew offers many opportunities . For example, this schools has a Heath Care which gives the students an opportunity to go to MLK Hospital and observe the professionals in person and do fun labs. I do recommend this school for students who would like to be in the doctor field in the future and for students that just wants a positive, hard-working, fun school that has teachers that pushes you to your limit!...Read 884 Reviews

Senior: I've been at this school for four years and it's been a roller coaster. Do I hate this school? Honestly no. Do I wish school started at 9 instead of 7? Yes, I do. I miss my sleep since homework is a lot depending on the classes you get. But when it comes to the bullying policy, they're very effective and I really appreciate that they care. I used to get bullied because of my stutter, but the situation was handled immediately and didn't have any process after that, none at all. The sports are limited since we are a small school, but the school spirit is definitely there, especially at basketball games! Overall, this was a cool school and I've made amazing friends here and the teachers(most of them anyway) are likey!...Read 51 Reviews

Junior: Being a Junior at Alliance Collins Family College Ready Highschool has been really good, the the whole staff is always there to help you succeed. Since the pandemic did take a toll on plenty of students in my school, Collins has provided us with the support we need in order to feel comfortable and safe. By creating a safe environment, and to have a support system to rely on, it really helps us as students know that we can depend on the school to help us with any issue we need. From the end of 2019 to now, there has been big changes to the school, us as students are now able to input our opinion on more things, as to how we feel about schedules, or how we feel about how the school is managing overall. This school is helping me succeed not only to go to a university, but preparing me for beyond...Read 385 Reviews

They also occasionally offer the change of other universities or colleges to allow students to take some college courses. Senior: My experience in Animo Pat Brown was such a memorable time, considering that I am now a senior. Starting off in my freshman year I didn't know what to expect, I was filled with fear but the teachers and peers made such a welcoming, comfortable environment. I like how the Schools community reaches to ensure everyone feels welcomed. In Animo Pat Brown it is literally like family because everyone knows each other in some way. If I had the opportunity to redo everything I would because it is such an amazing school. The teachers and staff are very considerate of our well being and quick to act when there is an issue. The learning pace is the definition of perfect and steady, if anyone falls behind the teachers provide guided study after school to help the students catch up. Overall the academics, people, staff etc. Are really amazing people, The campus overall is really beautiful and truth be told I feel like I had reached my goals and felt fulfilled with encouragement to attend college...Read 156 Reviews

Senior: Discovery Preparatory School is a comfortable, small sized school consisting of wonderful students and teachers. Considering how small it is, it grants each student the greater opportunity to receive complete assistance with their issues, and appointments with the counselor, as well as to receive critical information about colleges/universities. The school primarily does it's best to urge and prepare students for the life and educational opportunities of college, meanwhile also providing college courses for the students to take and excel as an advantage. It contains an extremely friendly environment with little to almost no complications between peers. It is one school that I would always prefer among the rest...Read 55 Reviews

Senior: Cals is a small school so I didn't experience the high school experience of having field trips, rallies, a senior trip, and more. It is a charter school so they aren't directly funded by the government which is affected me because we don't receive the right resources for us. Also, students are way too babied when Cals is supposed to be a "College Prep" by the teachers mostly with this upcoming generation who just rebel because they think it's "cool". However, I enjoyed that there is more interaction with the teachers during class and how I was able to take several college classes at school for free. I would've preferred for there to be more clubs because it helps for applications and resumes. During my time at this school, I can say that there is much work needed if they want their students to succeed in the real world...Read 159 Reviews
