Sophomore: Grady is a great school academically! It has good diversity and a lot of the teachers work really hard to help the students succeed. There is a fairly large divide in socio-economic class as well as race. Most of the students are driven and motivated and care about their studies! Junior: I love Atlanta Classical Academy! The teachers are amazing and the school really prepares you for college. However, If you decide to send your child to this school, make sure they TRULY understand how to study. The downfall of many new students at ACA is that when they enter the school (freshman year for ex.) they tend to expect that the grading system and the rigour of work will be the same as their previous school. I would say in order to do well at ACA you must study hard because the curriculum can be intense at times. One critique I would give the school is that the staff is not diverse. As a POC at ACA, having teachers who look like you and can relate to racial problems that may occur at school is very important. Parent: 4 kids went through morningside. 2 special needs. Covid is hard, but the teachers and administration do well with safety and inclusion. Fifth grade is a great transition space to know if your special needs child is going to make it in middle school with minimal parent involvement. Executive functioning is tested in a safe and repairable academic environment. Parent advocacy for children is encouraged and welcomed. Community involvement is incredible, and that is really what makes this school work. The parents amplified the academic environment, so these parents are well educated and involved. Diversity could be improved, but Intown living provides opportunities in such that the suburban public schools lack more. Howard and Grady and more diversified if you stay in district through 12. Walking/biking to school is a big thing. We took advantage of this several mornings, then would do the bus in the afternoon as it was a bit far for the young ones unaccompanied for our house.... Middle School Student: Inman Is a very good middle school I have learned a lot. There are very good teachers. (Shout out to the best teachers Ms Hughes and Ms Hurt). Senior: I started going to Tapestry my Freshman year of high school, now I’m a Senior about to graduate. Overall I would say I had a good experience at Tapestry. Everyone was kind and respectful to one another. The classes were smaller than a regular high school so the teachers gave the students more attention and time to finish their work. It is however not similar to a “normal” high school. Our school population does not exceed 2,000. We go to school in a one floor building and we don’t have a football team or many fun activities. Parent: Kipp Strive Academy is an excellent school. It was the #1 charter school in Georgia last year (2016). That says a lot! It does deserve an A+ rating. Parent: My oldest daughter started Kindezi O4W during the pandemic (2020) with virtual learning. She has thrived both during virtual learning and in person learning and has now started her third year at Kindezi O4W. I am very impressed with this school. I work at a local university, so good quality education is important to me. The teachers give their geniuses individually assigned tasks to further their strengths and work on those areas needing improvement. The teachers are in constant contacts with the parents and are genuinely enthusiastic about their jobs and the children they teach. The class sizes are small (14 kids: 2 teachers per class). I am delighted that our younger daughter just started Kindergarten at Kindezi O4W as well. Both of our kids LOVE this school, and wake up in the morning happy to go and learn and see their friends. Senior: Best Academy was a great experience I entered in the sixth grade and was able to go all the way to 12th grade in the same school same friends same teachers I'm pretty much saying administrative staff. What I love most about the school is that we are one big family from the student to the parents to the ATeam and especially the coaching staff. There's not really much out and about best Academy it's a best kept secret on the westside of Atlanta the district could do better with getting more students but honestly I really wouldn't do anything different like I said the best kept secret on the westside of Atlanta so much talent comes from the school many scholars comes from the school.
