Parent: This middle school has a variety of programs for the students to become involved in. One specific area I loved about this school is its music program. Mostly every student becomes involved with wither playing an instrument or singing in the choir. They even began an African drum class. It was a great learning experience and fun for the students and the teachers. I was also a fan of their teachers. For the most part they were hands on, insightful and knew the students needs.... Senior: Nassau Boces has amazing schools and my experience in their schools have been outstanding. I've been in the schools for three years and the teachers I've had were very respectful, intellectual, and their way of teaching was easily comprehensible. The campus was very safe, clean, and not confusing to walk through. Though, I am not saying this school is perfect. It did have one flaw. Not having enough clubs/extracurricular activities. I didn't have that many options apart from music, gym, culinary, and Gay Straight Alliance. I believe that students should have more options.... Read 1 review

High School Senior: My overall experience at this school was an imprtant compenet to me becoming more involved in extracurricalur activities and being open to making many friends. The school has something called 21St century which offers many clubs and sports that the kids an do afterschool and the good part about it is that transportatin is not a problem with the parents at all. They are dropped off at home at the end of the day and it also is a very smart way to keep the young kids off the street and causing trouble. Not only are there clubs but there are also sports for the kids who want to be more active and tryout to make the school team. Many inlcude baseball, volleyball, socceer, swimming, footballl, etc. Every step of the way the kids will enjoy the extracurricular programs becuase many of the sport's coaches are the teacher's themselves.... Senior: Honestly to start off the Academy is one of the cleanest schools out there as well as one of the safest. It provides a great, healthy learning environment to all its students. The school also does a great job at keeping their parents up to date with all the school's activities as well as the latest news or adjustments. Sports and clubs are also very inclusive of everybody. Parent: This school requires a lot of attention and gives not only the child that attends it an enormous amount of work load but holds each parent accountable too. Attendance and punctuality is held at a very high regard (military standard). With that said, this charter school will educate your child at a much higher level than any of the local schools. Since this location is K- through 4th grade you are setting your child up for success early on. My child has been here since kindergarten and not to brag but I can say this proudly: so advanced in reading, math and science for that age group. Even if you aren’t a stay at home parent but are willing to dedicate a lot of time to homework packages (all year around) and additional school work assignments that have to be resubmitted each day then this place is for you; your child will receive good quality education here but you have to be willing to put in lots of patience and work....
