Knowledge & Power Preparatory Academy V (KAPPA V)

Alum: I graduated from Kappa in 2016, and I can say that I enjoyed my experience there. Our inner city school was in the middle of a popular area in the Bronx, NY. Being that we were in a preparatory academy, all of the faculty members as well as the administration had high expectations for the students. So they pushed us in the direction of success, with goals of ultimately preparing us for college. I was involved in the International Baccalaureate(IB) program with other select students in my grade once we reached 11th grade. The IB program is a very rigorous program that I can say definitely prepared me for what college would throw my way in the following year of graduation. But besides the educational aspects, I can honestly say that the overall environment of the school felt like a second home. A great place to come to learn due to the community based lifestyle.

Senior: Mount Vernon STEAM Academy is the first STEAM academy in the area. My class will be the first graduating class of the STEAM academy so the school is constantly changing and upgrading. While there is problem with the constant construction it for the making a great school. It's online schooling is amazing the school proves every student with a computer and has real in time class session with teachers. They will not let a student fail without trying there hardest to understand why they are failing and how the school can help them.
