Middle School Student: Indian Hill Middle School or IHMS as people call it is a great middle school that provides a great experience for everyone. All the teachers are great and have left a lasting impact on me after a few years. Also, the building is very nice and is constantly decorated and cleaned. The people are for the most part friendly and it is easy to find friends. The classes are also very good and the staff members have been very accommodating (as a triple accelarated student). The sports are good and can be a good way to stay in shape and there are always people involved. The food is better than what you would expect from the middle school and I now prefer to buy over pack lunch. The only real problems were the administration issues over the summer and diversity. As Indian Hill is a high income area, expect to see some spoiled and rich kids as well as well as some names you may hear in ads. Otherwise, I would strongly suggest going to IHMS over CCDS or any other private school.

Parent: We left Southwestern City Schools. My oldest is 5th-8th grade here. She's a great student &loves it! My youngest started in Kndgtn w/weekly homework&I'm thankful for this. I know if she would have gotten her start anywhere else, she would not be where she is today. They grade on an A-F scale in grades K-11, which I love! Once my youngest showed signs of struggling in reading...I FREAKED! Her having minor speech issues, didn't help with the reading level expected in kndgtn. She did so well in all other areas. She was even further along then cousins in district schools the same age, so when they wanted to retain her in kndgrtn, it was my worst nightmare. I had read&heard of this happening &didn't understand because I absolutely LOVED her teacher,&thought she was doing well. We made the decision to keep her here&I'm thankful. She flew thru her 2nd year with so much confidence. She's now thriving at the end of 1st grade. It's not always easy, but it's...A GREAT SCHOOL!

Middle School Student: I feel that this is a great school! As a student myself, I find that the education is good and very hands on, and can sometimes (mattering on the teacher) fit a students learning style. The honor role is also great too. Lunches are O.K., but they could improve it in some cases.

Alum: Teachers are great. We have almost half of the school in the olentangy gifted programs.The gifted department here is very slouchy, even if you ask there is not much help, or students are discouraged on matters of subject selection for high school credits. Great admin. Our office staff are very friendly .gym facilities are good. Athletic department is good , but I have to mention middle school girls tennis is terrible, the coach won’t show up most days after he collects the money. Only for paid classes and selling the logo wear he comes. Other days it is totally unstructured and some parent volunteers are running it, they select teams every day and you will end up waiting for your turn since we have limited courts available. Parent volunteers prefer their kids to play naturally.

Niche User: My son enjoyed his Middle School years at Chagrin. He was challenged academically, participated on competitive sports teams, and grew and matured under the guidance of a very competent faculty and administration. We have a few very strong private school options in the area, but we are very happy to stay in the Chagrin school system where academics, athletics and co-curriculars rate high.
