Senior: Haynes has been such an awesome experience for me. I didn’t receive a seat until my Junior year, but once a seat finally opened up and I was able to enroll I was able to make friends quickly. The students, teachers and staff were very welcoming and made me feel like I belonged right away. I was able to jump right into talented music and art as well as take part in the productions with theatre. I am so thankful for a public school that has all of these accommodations available to us. The teachers strive hard to prepare us for college and there are many opportunities at Haynes to get a step ahead in planning for our journeys into college after graduation. At the end of my junior year Haynes took us on a trip called junior journey. We were able to travel by bus and tour several college campuses along the way from Louisiana to Tennessee. Junior: As a student that attends Patrick F. Taylor Science and Technology academy, I believe that this school and its staff put education at the forefront of everything they do. Since it is a science and technology school, there are ample resources that can propel its students to excellence when it comes to science and technology matters. When it comes to extracurricular activities, PFTSTA funds the clubs by having different fundraisers specifically made for certain clubs. Sports is definitely not a priority, although they just built a new gym for basketball games and volleyball games. Alum: I really liked going here! I attended this school from second grade until I graduated high school, and I wouldn't change it for the world. I love the friends I made, and the school spirit. The only issues I would say are: the deans and administration are not on your side and want to punish people. Detentions are handed out left and right, dress code is beyond strict, and seniors do not get any privileges. Despite all of this, finding a good of people at this school will get you through the day, and you will love Willow. Middle School Student: I love Prairieville Middle! It is very fun, and there is many activities and after school activities on campus. Also, lessons are engaging and teachers fully explain the lessons. However, it is very unorganized. On lots of occasions, it is hard to find out what is happening because of the lack of communication. Side Note: Class time can be wasted often on silly things and teachers don't really follow what the board says to do. One of the seventh grade teachers said and I quote, "If there is a real lockdown. Senior: I have been at APCS since first grade. With this being my final year, I am not ready to leave. This school has a welcoming environment as well as a fantastic staff and student school body. I recommend students to receive their education from here. I have enjoyed every moment I have had with this school, and I encourage others to do the same. Senior: I have been at Uhigh for 13 years and I have made a lot of great friends and memories! I love my teachers, however, some of them are a little strict over the dress code. Besides my friends, I will miss my teachers the most! I made the best bonds with them and I feel like I can go to them for anything! They care about their students! Your work ethic has to be very strong and high to go here, but it’s worth it in the end because I will have 18 credits when I go to college! I am involved in 10 different fun, welcoming clubs and I am on the women’s soccer team! The Laboratory School provides a lot of opportunities for their students as well. Seniors have the option of getting out of school at 12:40, which is really helpful when there are college applications due. One thing I would acknowledge Uhigh to invest in would be a bigger school parking lot. Some people are unable to find parking when they get to school at a reasonable time. Senior: D'arbonne Woods Charter School pushes its students very hard but we always come out on top! We are always encouraged to do our very best and the atmosphere is welcoming yet professional. As a student who has been attending for all of high school, I have had the best experience. There are times when I want to give up, when the work gets me bogged down and exhausted, but I remember that I'm lucky to be here and I think about what I can do to prepare for my hopefully bright future and make college easier for myself by working hard now. Everybody knows everybody at D'arbonne Woods, since it isn't a particularly large school so we are like a big family.
