Junior: I've been going to DFA since 6th grade and I've loved every second of it! The school offers high rigor classes and has great faculty members, so there's a strong support system available to the students if needed. Everyone loves to participate in spirit week and other events held throughout the school year! Every teacher has a strong passion for their job and each fine art has a moment to showcase their talent. Senior: I have been at Elite Scholars since the 6th grade. This is my final year here and I am truly excited. Don't get me wrong Elite Scholars is good but the workload could be better. Since the 6th grade, I have been pulled with tons of work from all my classes. Now being a senior, the workload just got easier. For 7 years straight, the workload has been unbearable. I have had mental stress trying to complete assignments from six classes in one day. Currently, I am a dual enrollment student at Southern Cresent Technical College. I still attend Elite Scholars Academy but only for three classes then I go home or to my college classes. I am truly happy I decided to do dual enrollment, it gives me an escape. Senior: For what the school lacks in facilities and strong sports team, it makes up with incredibly devoted teachers who work relentlessly to ensure that every student is getting the best education they can. The education succeeds other Atlanta private schools, despite being a free charter school. The spirit is strong as everyone knows each other and contributes to the overall life of the school. Parent: This is our 3rd year at ICSAtlanta (2 children). My son attended another local area charter school, which we chose because they teach Arabic. Because language instruction was just a few days a week, he was not learning very much. Now he is fluent in French! My daughter is proficient as well. Both kids LOVE their teachers and the environment there. No school is perfect, but this is as close as it gets for our family. My daughter started in K and will hopefully get all the way through in 8th grade. My son is looking forward to middle school next fall after an amazing elementary experience. Other: after a while, Desana sucks in its own way, and its good in its own way. The school is respectful and caring but the clubs are available and the activities need some work, especially the football team. Desana is a great school overall though after attending for 2 years! Senior: I love ace! The education is one of the best in Georgia and it is such a valuable school to kids in Macon who’s other options of public school are poor and have insufficient education standards. ACE workload may be tough at times, but it’s important yo remember that it prepares your student for their future college workload. The teachers here (at least in the gifted program) are top-notch. They are passionate about what they teach and care that their students do well. While the rules at times can be frustrating and seem ridiculous, they only teach your child obedience even when it seems unnecessary and overbearing.
