Senior: Newark Charter School is a great school. They have great academics as they have great teachers and great variety of courses to take. The school is also very diverse in both their student and teacher body. The school also provides a variety of clubs and activities and even if your club isn't there, you can create one and start leading it. Our sports are also good, but we aren't as competitive versus other schools around us. One thing I would improve is our involvement in sports as they should be more competitive and build facilities to help our athletes. The food that they provide here isn't good even though it is free, the school needs to find a different alternative that tastes better and that is actually edible even if it means charging for it.... Junior: My experience with MOT Charter School so far has been great! The staff and teachers at MOT are very understanding and help you throughout your struggles. They ensure the students are getting the best education. I attended MOT Charter High school since my 9th grade. I am now a junior at MOT, currently halfway through my 11th grade of high school. All of the teachers I've had until now teach very well and value the time with students. Alum: I am a graduate of the class of 2013. The teachers are amazing and really care for their students. This school definitely eliminates any superstition about public schools being on a lower education scale than private schools. This school is by far the best public k-8 school in Delaware. Senior: I had alot of fun at this school. They taught better social skills and they taught me a lot in general. I want to thank everyone who took the time to teach me all the neat stuff that gave me the courage to go on to Indian River and succeed as a senior. To all who actually might read this, everyone should go to the school for academics purely. The reason I gave it four stars though instead of five is because my decision was biased by the constant bullying problems I had though. Parent: Coming from North Star Elementary we had high expectations of H.B. DuPont Middle School but they have continued to exceed our expectations. Top notch administration, committed educators and positive student atmosphere will help our kids to be ready for competitive high school and college environments. Additionally, the unique "activity blocks" worked into each student's schedule is such an amazing idea - what a wonderful way to expose kids to all different disciplines while keeping it fun and fresh. Senior: Odyssey is a great school! You get yo learn a different language of Greek, which has been an experience in itself. The majority of the teachers care about your overall well-being. Senior: JDHS has a lot of diversity and students in college preparatory, honors, Advanced Placement (AP), and International Baccalaureate (IB) classes. These courses vary in rigor but the teachers remain phenomenal in every class. Recently they added a middle school opened which is a great opportunity to experience the IB curriculum prior to high school. Even if JDHS isn’t the high school for you, the middle school is one of the best schools around. Without having to chose a major- students experience a design class with hands on building and creativity (also available in high school), a performing arts class where students deliver monologues and develop confidence, and last but not least an art class where students experiment with different mediums. While there is an excellent curriculum, it encourages students to have freedom in developing passions while engaging the curriculum.
