Keyes to Learning Charter School
21 Best Public Middle Schools in Modesto Area
- Keyes Union School District, CA
High School Senior: My school is really small but that just allows everybody to actually know each other's name rather than schools where there's thousands of students and its hard enough to memorize the names of just the people in your grade. It's a very free school but not liberal; free as in the ability to express one's ideas without being in danger of getting in trouble. I'm pretty sure that no one there does drugs or smokes or drinks but if they do, they don't do it at school which adds to the positive feeling.

Connecting Waters Charter School

- PK, K-12
Alum: I went through Connecting Waters as a homeschooler. I absolutely loved the experience! The school, the curriculum and the teachers all helped prepare me to go onto pursue my nursing career. I was able to graduate early with a high GPA and with the knowledge I needed to succeed in a college setting.

Middle School Student: At Gva there are GREAT teachers, sports programs, extra help programs, and just great people. I have excelled at this school, and so had everyone I know. Being at this school has pushed me top want to do great things, and help people. I am now set on going to college to get a masters in psychology. This school is one of the best things that has ever happened to me.

Freshman: Niche allows reviews to only be less than 1000 characters, so I'll try to summarize everything.
Academics/Teachers/Resource: MWAH! The teachers are all qualified and passionate about their respective subjects (many also have PhD's). There are many resources within the school that assist students' academic performance if they wish, such as the peer tutoring program, office hours, or simply having a classmate help you out.
Clubs: A surprisingly wide variety of clubs. The largest (and arguably best) clubs consist of Speech & Debate, Mock Trial, and DECA.
Sports: PE only offers the mainstream sports, such as soccer, basketball, and football.
Diversity: Nonexistent. All Asians.
Food: Most of the students hate it.
School Culture: Many of the students are talented and smart, but many of them at the same time are also conceited and condescending, which degrades the school environment by a considerable amount.
