Alum: Phillips Prep Middle School was a generally well-rounded magnet school, and honestly made me who I am today. They have a strong band program, and offer challenging classes. Since I have been there, I am leaps and bounds ahead of my classmates in writing and math, and similarly have used my Spanish to gain scholarships and travel abroad opportunities. It offers a very welcoming, friendly environment, with teachers who care and wonderful facilities.

Middle School Student: Summerdale School is Pre-K through 8th grade and is by far the best school I have attended, as well as the top pick for my parents. Summerdale School is very family friendly and safe. The staff is very supportive and challenges students academically, with the exception of those who need assistance academically. Those who struggle academically are offered assistance. The heart of the Summerdale staff is to grow each student academically, but also grow them to be the young men and women that society needs. Summerdale is not a very populated area, therefore making the class size small. A lot of the students that have graduated in my high school class still talk about our middle school experience, and how we miss and love the family that we made during those years. The work ethic and values I learned at Summerdale School remain with me to this day.

Middle School Student: Before I attended Alba, I went to a magnet school in mobile county. I excelled in my classes there, but I was unfortunately bullied. My family and I decided the best thing to do was to transfer to Alba during my 8th grade year. Alba is a close knit school. Everyone there is either related or friends with someone. They have a good selection of clubs, and are very welcome to newcomers like I was. In fact. even though I was the new student, I was voted in as the president of the school's NJHS. The school's groups and organizations helped prepare me for highschool, and everyone's friendliness made school seem so much better.
