St. Edmund's Academy
- Private School
- Pittsburgh, PA
- PK, K-8
Parent: I love the diversity of our school, and it's something you won't find in other school in the city. The teachers know my kids so well. They treat them like family members, which sounds cliche but is true. They have very high standards for kids in the classrooms but they teach kids how to maintain that level of rigor in an enjoyable way that does not cause them undue anxiety. My kids are learning how to balance their academics, sports, outside activities, and fun with their friends in a way that I envy! Most importantly though, everyone in school reinforces the messages about kindness, consideration, empathy, and respect for differences that we're telling them at home. This was something notably missing from our public school experience and, in my opinion, is worth the financial sacrifice to send them to this school. Choosing this school will likely go down as one of the best decisions I've made for them in their lives. It's a very special place.

James S. Wilson Middle School
7 Best Public Middle Schools in Erie Area
- Millcreek Township School District, PA
Alum: My personal experience with JS Wilson was mostly enjoyable. I had an excellent education. My only negative would be that some of my teachers seemed to care more about some students than others but I persevered and made it through despite all the challenges a middle schooler can face. JS was the first school I attended in Erie Pa after moving from Morgantown WV. I had a hard time adjusting but the atmosphere made me feel better about having to make new friends and I felt more included. Some teachers I had were the best to this very day. I had an english teacher that taught me valuable information that I kept through out my middle and high school careers. These memories and lessons will stick with me through my education as learning never stops.

JoAnna Connell Elementary School
- Erie City School District, PA
Alum: The teachers there were friendly and cared about each student. The other students were also very nice. The building was in good condition with lots of learning facilities. There were programs to help students who were steuggling in classes and lots of after school activities. It is also one of the higher performing schools in the district.

Wattsburg Area Middle School
- Wattsburg Area School District, PA
Middle School Student: Overall, Wattsburg Area Middle school is a nice school. The staff as well as the administration are very nice and are willing to work with you. However, the food quality could be a lot better and at that point they would have received five stars from me. Another thing that could be improved would be parent involvement. Parents can barely do anything with their children or be involved with any school activities whether those activities are after school or during school hours. Academics are not making any students fall behind by any means. Overall, Wattsburg Area Middle School is a very good school and I would highly suggest it to anyone looking to transfer schools in the area.
