Middle School Student: STPA is such a healthy and understanding environment to be in. All the teachers fully understand the student point of view and help all feel challenged at their own pace. The faculty and administration tries their hardest to help any student who is having difficulty or stress. One thing very noticeable is that the students above all have anyone’s back and are very friendly in various situations. Though STPA is known for its rigorous academics, their various sports and clubs thrive. Organizations like UIL, NJHS, Student Council and more are found at STPA. The sports would include volleyball, basketball, soccer, golf, kickball, football, track, and fitness clubs, like weight training. Not only does STPA offer these many sports, but the students excel! The girls volleyball team is an undefeated Texas Champion, and the track team has also placed in state competitions! Parent: Rising Scholars Academy has changed my daughter’s life. Before RSA, she went to a terrible middle school with horrible teachers, but after going to RSA her mood changed significantly and she says the teachers at RSA are so kind and listen to all her needs. She loves the community and tells me she feels really safe because of the security guards by the door. She especially loves the clubs and has made several new friends. Parent: All throughout Highschool I've been pushed by my coaches and teachers who I have close relationships with, which is mainly all my teachers since in Idea they all strive to better their student and to show that they matter. The environment is nice and the school is not very crowded. Its a great school for wanting to be better in your academics its also a great so for sports, although we don't have the required facilities as a regular public school, our school strives to make the best out of training and having to share a field with all the other sports and athletes we still manage to get great training in, in order to be successful in the sport. You have great motivation to excel in academics you teachers check up on your grades and make sure to see to it that you are passing so that you could have a great start to moving forward into college.... Middle School Student: I was here at morris for only my 6th grade year during the 1999-2000 school year. I really loved this school when I went here and I felt really safe in the environment I was in. And also whenever you would report someone they actually do their job and they take care of it immediately. The teachers were really awesome and it helped me prepare for college. I know I was only here for 6th grade, but the reason why is because when they built Cathey Middle School in 2000 it was closer where I lived so I moved there, but I loved Morris a lot, so if your thinking of sending your children to Morris, do it, I highly recommend it, and you wont regret it.... Senior: My experience attending IDEA McAllen was the best, the moments that I have gone through the friendships that I made and my first love. Attending this great school has been an amazing ride that I will never forget, the memories will always be in my heart, the fun I had with my friends throughout highschool. It the chance was presented to myself I would do it all over again, I am glad to have attended in this amazing school met amazing people, and glad to call them family. The only changes that I would have loved to see change was having more clubs or organizations to join cause there weren't as many options in the past so I would like to see that change in the future.... High School Junior: Nikki Rowe high school is the top high school in McAllen, Texas. The teachers itself are amazing. The way the go out of their way to make us become successful in the future is so important to me. Our school has so much to offer, especially will college courses here. My teachers who teach that class are outstanding! I love how they teach. It's never a dull moment in class other than test days, but nobody likes test days. Even in our electives they make us become a better person. For instance, I am currently in band and my directors have taught me so much and to not give up and try new things. So I soon then tried out to be a drum major this past year (junior) and I got the position. At first I was nervous but it took a lot from those who helped me get where I am today. Junior: First of all, Idea Frontier is a charter school, so it gives the opportunity to everyone no matter their race,color or financial situation.With this in mind I'd say this is one of the best schools there are out there.The first time i got here everyone was so friendly (teachers and students) and I really felt included because this won't be the case in all schools.Like in all school there are great rules and HORRIBLE RULES, for example the uniform policy and the electronics policy.I understand that many schools have uniforms and electronics rules but usually no in high school where there is supposed to be more "liberty".The teacher are amazing,some teachers work their butts off trying to get everyone to understand and to pass the class.This is mainly seen in high school,because there is where the real difference is.Idea Frontier is also know for its IB program as is it so rigorous and extensive (workwise).This program prepares teens for college and gives a chance for college credit.... Senior: Idea Donna is great for students that want to challenge themselves with great Pre-AP, AP, and IB courses that are rigorous. Administration is great at encouraging and pushing students to improve academically. Software and teacher lectures are well implement in student learning and other sources are encouraged. IB teachers are always involved looking to help students with any essays they have. Other high school teachers are always open to writing letter's of recommendation or heavily involved in college process. Something that needs improvement is counselor/ mental health awareness.
