Alum: When I first went to this school, I was lost. However, just after a few days I felt welcomed. They made sure each student was comfortable in their environment. Each teacher would make you feel safe and can tell when you're having an off day. Not only that, but the teachers would make sure you understood a topic they taught. With this school, they made an effect to make sure you're involved. They would host homecoming, winter festivals, basketball tournaments, culture nights, etc. When it comes to college readiness, they would have days dedicated to just that. When those days came around, students were able to meet with teachers and/or counselors to see what they needed to do to get ready for college. What they also did was allow students to go on college trips to see the different types of colleges out there. You would get the chance to see the many community colleges, 4-year public, and private colleges that are located in New York.
