Niche User: I loved middle school, eveeyone was very nice and we all followed the same tacit rules. This made it easy to get along with others. I was a bit bratty in elementry school, but I grew out of it in middle school. By middle school, I had made a lot of friends easily by talking to new kids who obviously needed a friend, and talking to the kids I had known from elementry school. I was athletic, always had one of the fastest mile runs in the school (we had to run the mile every month). I had the highest grades in almost every class too, the teachers liked me and I found the homework easy to understand. The middle school pace was faster than elementry, which I had always thought was so slow and boring. By the end of the year, they were giving awards, I got four, three for academics and one for teacher’s pet. It was a fun time.
Vandenberg was very isolated, I don’t believe we ever participated in any competitions. So I wish we had been able to compete with other middle schools.

Parent: Our son is currently in the 2nd grade. He has been at the school for two years, and it has been a wonderful experience. The enthusiasm of the teachers, who are truly experts in the subjects they teach, is infectious. They consistently set high standards for all students at every stage of their academic career. This is a school that prioritizes academics and the students themselves; it is targeted to students with intellectual curiosity and a strong work ethic. We are very happy here!
