Middle School Student: Throughout my years at Hingham Public Schools I have faced harsh challenges. Including; bullying, lack of diversity, and some unintentional racism. But, because of it all it has made me a better person. At this school they take pride in supporting advanced students, and students that need a little extra help. As the new generations of students come and go, teachers update their curriculum and activities to engage all students. Their work is informative, but not demanding. And the teachers are willing to stay after school or for lunch to work on topics that you might not understand. Despite the aforementioned challenges, I would not leave this school if I was forced. The academics are college-worthy, and Hingham Middle School is definitely teaching for a better future.... Read 4 reviews

Niche User: Besides diversity issues is one of the best schools around! Extremely amazing staff, beautiful brand new building, and lots of kind people everywhere you look! By far best sports in Plymouth county, and much safer than surrounding towns. After school clubs and programs are everywhere and for everyone, and teachers are CRAZY nice and understanding. And the music program? High school goes to Chicago, Disney World, and CARNEGIE HALL to perform. The opposite of a stereotypical Middle School (even has pretty good cafeteria food!) Parent: My children attended Rising Tide starting in grade 5, so we have been affiliated with the school for over 10 years. I have seen tremendous growth in all areas while my children were there. My youngest graduated from R.T. this June, and I will continue to be an advocate for them. The staff there, new and seasoned teachers to the administration, are clearly dedicated to helping each child reach their potential. The academics can be very intense - lots of homework compared to the mainstream, but the courses are geared to make them successful in college or whatever their next steps will be. I will honestly say that my oldest had some struggles with 8th grade math which made him frustrated with himself and the school, and ultimately led to him switching to public high school. Once there, it was clear how advanced and confident he was compared to students who had been at public all along. Alum: The diversity was probably one of my favorite aspects of SSCPS. I had gone there K-12 so that is all I had known. I think it is a big part of what shaped me to be who I am today. I made great connections with peers who are some of the best people I've met. I never thought it was weird to call a teacher by their first name until I made friends with people who went to different schools. I think that was what helped form the connections I was able to make with teachers, which was a huge plus. I participated in a lot of activities and extra curriculars and I loved everything about them. I honestly feel like I have nothing bad to say besides I wish there was more space. Senior: Carver Middle High School is a school that has definitely changed for the better over the past few years. After COVID-19, the school started developing specified pathways for students. Each pathway plays into each student's individual goals or possible career choices for the future. Me personally, I am in the Biotechnology pathway. The Biotechnology pathway is great for anyone looking to go into any branch of the medical field or just anything biology related. Other possible pathways for students include Environmental Sciences, Robotics and Engineering, Theater and Performing Arts, etc. Which ever pathway you choose increases in difficulty as you progress in high school and prepares you for college and the real world. Even if you aren't in a pathway, Carver Middle/High School still provides plenty of opportunities for internships and advanced classes. Senior: I started attending New Heights Charter School of Brockton in my eight grade year. I have never attended or heard of a charter school before so I was excited but also nervous. I transferred in the middle of eighth grade so I came a month after the school year already started, that made me incredibly uneasy. That feeling did not last long and was overtaken by the feeling of happiness, satisfaction, and gratitude. I was so happy that I transferred to New Heights Charter School, the biggest reason why is the community. Both the students and teachers are so pleasing and wonderful. I was satisfied with the environment I was going into every morning and was so grateful that school was so enjoyable and comfortable for me, which is all because of the supportive environment New Heights provides. The teachers are always open to help you with whatever and the counselors and faculty assist you greatly in such a friendly manner.
