Parent: Three of my children have attended Jared Eliot Middle School. The school has been the recipient of the NELMS Spotlight Award multiple times. The teachers are supportive and well-respected. A wide variety of after school enrichment programs are offered throughout the year. The teachers and staff genuinely care about every student, and are very fair. The chorus and band student participation is fantastic. Various activities and educational field trips (Boston, Newport, Sturbridge Village, Nature's Classroom, Music in the Parks at Hershey and Six Flags, Goodspeed Opera House, Memorial Day Parade participation) are offered to the students during their three years at the middle school, creating memorable experiences for our Clinton youth. My children always felt academically challenged, comfortable and safe.

High School Senior: There is not much bullying. Many students are accepting of others and do not look down on others or make fun of them. The small class I think makes the difference. I would attend this school again if I had the choice.

Woodrow Wilson Middle School

Alum: Woodrow Wilson Middle School in Middletown Connecticut was formerly the high school building. Although the building is very old and in need of many repairs and updates —teachers, students, administrators, and parents do the best to build a positive environment within the failing building/structure. Committees are formed for clean ups/repairs/gardening to build up the school community in light of the building issue. The good news is that it was just recently approved to build a new middle school. I hope all the good citizenship that is in place for the old school continues in the new school environment!!
