- Reed Union Elementary School District, CA
- Rating 4.38 out of 5 8 reviews
Middle School Student: I could not recommend Del Mar Middle School more highly. The campus is beautiful, the teachers are incredible, and the students are welcoming. Whoever said that middle school was the “worst part of life” clearly did not attend Del Mar.

Sophomore: I absolutely love this school. I graduated a few years ago. I have met my best friends here. The academics are excellent, but not stressful. The teachers really care and want you to do well. The downside of this school is that if you have bad people in your grade you are basically screwed because you will be miserable, but I lucked out and I loved my grade.

Parent: There are so many reasons why our family feels remarkably lucky to be at WCA. We were most drawn to the mix of income levels, racial and cultural backgrounds and languages, over any other school in Marin. The beautiful campus overlooks the Bay and has 4 gardens. WCA’s greatest strength is undoubtedly the teachers - a passionate, fun-spirited group who use hands-on, project-based learning methods and are innovative and creative in their approaches. We have found the administration to be personally responsive and accessible and encouraging of parent engagement. It is a joy to see kids playing ukelele, xylophone and percussion in our dynamic music program, as well as the murals, sculptures and paintings from our vibrant art classes. And did I mention the freshly cooked school lunches, with all organic food? It's SO many things!

White Hill Middle School
#10 Best Public Middle Schools in Marin County
- Ross Valley Elementary School District, CA
- Rating 2.89 out of 5 9 reviews
Middle School Student: I go here and it's pretty good for a middle school. Most of the teachers are good (some aren't though), the work is hard but like not to an extreme extent, there aren't really bullies (and physical fights are rare), and I think that compared to a ton of schools its very nice. The only bad thing is most kids are upper-middle-class privileged white kids so they don't appreciate the school and havent really experienced much hardship in life, but when you see how bad we could have it with other schools it really outs things into perspective.

Sinaloa Middle School
#12 Best Public Middle Schools in Marin County
- Novato Unified School District, CA
- Rating 3.75 out of 5 4 reviews
Middle School Student: Sinaloa Middle School has an amazing music program which makes this school a bit above average, especially around Novato, this school is considered one of the best. This school has some pretty good teachers but some are there just to torture the poor kids I definitely enjoyed my time there because of the music program, but other than that, this school is pretty much average. Another thing I would like to add is that this school is harsh on kids, and it's not just teachers. Let's just say you were late to class by a minute. Guess what, you just earned yourself detention, even if that was your first time being late! I think this is ridiculous. Other than that major complement, this school is okay.

Union Hill Middle School
#16 Best Public Middle Schools in Marin County
- Union Hill Elementary School District, CA
- Rating 3 out of 5 2 reviews
Middle School Student: I go to Union Hill Middle School. It it definitely the best school around the area. Other schools are not very safe and do not have the best academics like we do. We also have the best sports. We usually win every championship. We have very good teachers. The only bad part are the school lunches. they are not healthy and our students do not like them. Overall, it is a pretty good school.

James B. Davidson Middle School
- San Rafael City Elementary School District, CA
- Rating 4 out of 5 5 reviews
Parent: Davidson teachers and faculty are outstanding! I have a 7th grader at DMS and I have been impressed with the focus the teachers place on helping every student achieve their potential - both academically and emotionally. This school gets an unnecessary bad wrap - it is a fantastic place for kids to grow, experience the real world and make lifelong connections.

West Marin Elementary School
- Shoreline Unified School District, CA
- Rating 3.67 out of 5 3 reviews
High School Senior: The teachers are amazing, they are willing to listen to students in and out of the classroom. Students are all very involved and care for on another. This school was honestly a hate free zone. Everyone got along well and no one was ever isolated. Given that it is a small school, everyone is very united.
