Senior: Juniata Valley has taught me to be considerate, hard working, and helping. They give students chances to be independent inside and outside of school. Teachers treat us like adults and prepare us for the next step or steps in our lives. The community around Alexandria is so welcoming and supportive. They support the school, the sports, and students. There are many opportunities to get involved and be heard, which is one of my favorite things about Juniata Valley.

Junior: The teachers are one-on-one with their students and work to meet them on their own level. The class sizes are decent, as there will typically be no more than thirty students per class. Opportunities are vast as well. A student can be apart of as many clubs as they desire to participate in. Overall, the student population is quite small with less than 1,000 students in attendance. However, these students embrace those around them and the sense of community is overwhelming. The academics are improving as more and more college level courses are being offered, and the resources available for students are also getting better. Southern Huntingdon is not that diverse, though. The student population is predominantly Caucasian due to the ethnicity of the surrounding area.

Middle School Student: I liked that almost all of the teachers are very friendly and open to listen to what problems you might have. Something that I might change about HAMS is that there have been multiple very rude, not qualified enough, and inappropriately behaving substitute teachers there that have been hired and have had problems reported directly to the principal about by myself, close friends, and others. Those substitute teachers are still being hired. In fact, just today I had a substitute that had recently cursed out a class (including some of my friends) and had been reported by my friends and myself to the principal and other teachers.
