Alum: Irma Rangel YWLS was an amazing school that truly prepared me for college. From the moment I began my journey at that school, they implemented good habits in order to keep up with the work that we got and extracurricular activities we had. Rangel is known for its excellent academics, but it doesn't only focus on the academic aspect; they focus on their students' mental health and provide different ways for students to have less stress on them. I also loved being able to connect more with the community through various clubs that allowed me to participate in multiple service events. Overall, my experience at Irma Rangel YWLS was extraordinary, I truly believe they prepare their students for the future and I am thankful they prepared me for not only college but for life after school.... Alum: At Coppell Middle School West, the teachers are very understanding and prepare the students for the rigorous AP/IB curriculum in high school. The only negative aspect is that there is a large teacher:student ratio where there may not be enough attention given to all students. Middle School Student: Very good, there is only one problem too much kids are coming with houses being built. Some of the kids that are moving does not even have any respect and our school is turning into hopeless schools like Mesquite ISD. Sophomore: My experience at Grand Prairie Fine Arts has been truly incredible so far. From core academics to whatever art strand you find yourself in, you learn a lot from the teachers and the students as well. As a currently enrolled student in the vocal music strand, this school has helped me hone and shape my skills to not only excel in the theory of music but what it takes to really reach that level of professionalism you'll need after high school. The teachers are amazing and understanding when it comes to schoolwork assignments but of course, it's best to turn in work on time! The school itself is very lively. People have the freedom to be themselves, whether you are a rockhard emo or love to dress in pink unicorns head to toe, everyone is unique and you'll find so many other people people who are willing to get to know you believe it or not. Senior: The school, in my experience, is great! You can really tell that the teachers truly care for all of their students and constantly make themselves available to help us. Parent: Son's first year, starting in 7th grade. He is learning amongst a diverse, smart bunch of kids in a supportive, motivating, fun setting where creativity and individuality is embraced and encouraged. Teachers and office staff are wonderful! My kid was already attending a solid private school and was ready to go into Year 2 but we chose to forfeit the tuition already paid to accept a seat at Sudie. Sophomore: Grand Prairie Collegiate Institute is a really good school. From academics to the school community the school is a place I truly consider home. I have better options for academics than I have anywhere else. GPCI allows for students like me to be set for a great future. The best part is that by the time we graduate senior year, we have many college credits from the courses offered and taken at our school. GPCI only offers rigorous courses, so those who aren't up for the challenge will really have a hard time graduating with the requirements. GPCI is a small school but, what I learned from all my years there is that the size of the school allows for more one-on-one interaction with teachers and students. It allows for such a close and tight community whereas in any other high school, not everyone knows everyone. Senior: My school is a classical charter school where we focus on building the whole person, not just their academic abilities. The best part of my experience there comes from the students and faculty there, they are so wonderful and brilliant and the debates and discussion there is so fruitful. The worst part comes from the attitude of people who don't see the value of the school and treat it cynically.
