Alum: For a relatively small school that doesn't get a whole lot of funding, West does a great job motivating its students and providing a positive atmosphere. The small city of Albany certainly isn't lacking in school spirit or quality teachers. Most of the staff genuinely care about their students' success and will go above and beyond to help them with class material. The lack of funding for some academic activities like newspaper and mock trial were a bit frustrating, as money is necessary to provide students ample time to learn, contribute, and stay competitive. I graduated in 2010 so I'm not sure what has changed in terms of academic offerings. While attending, I did earn about 25 college credits which was great. I hope they continue to offer students more college credit opportunities! It's also a decent school for sports and remains pretty competitive in football.

Central Linn High School

Alum: For Central Linn being such a small school, they really have a lot to offer. During my time here I had some ups and downs with teachers but mainly ups. The staff there genuinely want students to have opportunities to experience the world. They have a plethora of sports to choose from to keep kids out of trouble. I enjoyed my years in cheerleading as it taught me teamwork skills, public speaking, and accountability. The music program there is phenomenal. I was exposed to so many musical opportunities that I never dreamed of. I was able to tour New York, receive vocal lessons in Seattle, and write music of my own. My teacher saw how many students thrived off of music and took the opportunity to mold and shape us to young professionals. I loved my English teachers and they all take time to work with students that are behind in their language skills because of the lower income situations in my community.

Lebanon High School

Senior: Pretty good overall. More focus is seemingly put on athletics than other clubs.
Class availability can be a little wonky or perhaps restrictive if the classes are not that popular or if they're optional. Almost every teacher is helpful and wants to be there for the students. A pretty small school for a pretty small town (~1200-1400 total students), but that's not really an issue.
