Santa Ynez Valley Union High School

Senior: At SYVUHS everyone eventually sees one another and has an opportunity to make a new friend. It has high academic standards that are met through the education given by very intelligent teachers. Being a small valley community, the Santa Ynez Valley becomes a huge football supporting town that enjoys the Friday night lights. In this safe environment, many students are allowed to express who they are without judgment. Also, their amazing clubs allow you to experience the world outside of the SYV walls and expand students education on what the world has to offer. Overall, SYVUHS is a home that one grows to love and eventually sad about having to leave senior year. So, don't let the four years at SYVHUS pass by and experience a pirates life.

Senior: Orcutt Academy High School is very excellent at preparing students for a college setting. Teachers at this site treat each student as a college student but is always there to help the student if asked. They care about their students academic understanding as well as their life in general. Pupils do not need to be nervous when asking for help as the teachers explain their job is to help and educate the student so asking questions means they can guide the student better onto the understanding of the topic. The school celebrates LGBTQ community as well as a club. The school welcomes any group or people into their culture. The school has rallies every few months for events where the students complete against each other, or against teams of teachers. Sports at the school are interactive but I would not rate it 10/10, as the reason is sports aren't seen as the number one thing at school but instead its academics. Overall if I had to rate OA is would be 9/10!

Ernest Righetti High School

Senior: Righetti High School has been a great experience for me personally! I believe the reason for that though is because Righetti provides a lot of different clubs, sports, and extracurriculars for students to be a part of. The best way to make your high school experience at Righetti a great one is by being very involved in a numerous amount of activities the school offers. I can see how ones personal experience may differ from my own when one does not take advantage of all the programs on campus. It could be a very boring four years with only classes and just going to school everyday. The teachers are adequate, they do their job and do it well, most of the time. The student body lacks in school spirit when it does not involve the football team. The school is a very safe place to get an education and students aren't left fearing coming to school day. All in all Righetti is a great place to attend school as long as you make the most out of all the awesome programs.

Senior: My experience at my high school was overall great. I met friends from diverse cultural backgrounds and bonds with staff that I appreciate because they helped me get through my for years and make sure I was in the right track. I learned great tools from my peers and adults there that gave me insight on what will be the rest of my life. I am grateful for the opportunities that this school has given me and other students who need it, such as scholarship nights or after school programs. The teachers make sure the students are receiving as many opportunities to improve their grades and skills. Everyone here is a community, coming from a relatively small town.
