Bayfield High School
#128 Best Public High Schools in Colorado
- Bayfield School District, CO

Senior: Bayfield High is an amazing school with endless opportunities of sports, academics, clubs, activities and tons of extracurricular. The BHS staff works together to ensure their students are being pushed to be the best version of them that they can be. They want success for all students enrolled in their classes and also success for aspects not involving school. The environment is positive and friendly as students are nice to each other and friends with more than just one specific group. At BHS there is not much stereotypical groups. With only a little over 400 students, there is diversity in a unique and friendly way. The size of BHS is small and allows for a more involved community and close. Bayfield High is one of the best high schools in Southern Colorado.

Senior: At Pagosa Springs High School, the staff and the students work hard together to reach the goals that take students to and beyond graduation. I find it helpful that the school offers more opportunities to spark interest for careers involving different trades and skills rather than pushing college on the students. I would like to see an expansion of students learning basic life skills. Learning aspects of life such as saving money, buying a house, cooking, and raising children are all just as important to be successful as furthering one's education. Pagosa Springs High School exudes such a welcoming atmosphere, and I am grateful PSHS is where I spent my high school years making friends, relationships, developing opinions/values, and learning skills that will stay with me for as long as I live.

Alum: I loved everything about this high school. The teachers and staff helped you beyond explanation and they are kind and compassionate people! The sports teams are improving and you can really tell the people here care about one another. If they didn't offer a class at the High School, they would find a class you were interested in and enroll you in that one. I will definitely bring my kids here when that time comes.
