Alum: The staff at this high school were so friendly and cared about the children that attended it. The teachers helped the students succeed in academics. The athletic department was very good too. The coaches wanted the best for all athletes no matter what the sport was.

Poth High School

Senior: Poth High school was a very small, close knit community and allowed students to connect with classmates, teammates, and most importantly teachers. The small community location of the school always made me feel welcome and I got to go to school and grow up with the same people all twelve grades. Poth has been a wonderful school to attend, with great school spirit, friendly teachers, and many facilities offered to the students. Although, Poth is great, I would like to see more classes being offered. Poth is such a small school that we are limited to what the school can offer. Also, I would like to see perhaps renovations to our old building. Overall, Poth ISD has been a great school.

La Vernia High School

Senior: La Vernia High School is a small town school. Everyone one here gets along for the most part, the one thing that I love most about it, is that I have always been super close to my friends because of how small the school is. I do not think I would really want to change anything about the school except that we need covers for our walkways when it rains!

Floresville High School

Senior: I've lived in Floresville all of my life, I can say that the Floresville school district is one of the best in the area Although a small mostly rural area, there is a lot of opportunity in the atmosphere. Those who wish to excel in college have the opportunity to take dual credit classes, which Floresville is one of the few rural based school in the district that offers these courses. Additionally, there are a lot of teachers I've made a wonderful connection with. Although there are some minute issues like peer drama and lack of funding for some undesirable courses, I still fee welcome and at home in this school. So much so, that I want to return and teach here myself after college.

Nixon-Smiley High School

Junior: The school needs to be more open to new things and actually push for those things to happen, instead of giving up or having no faith in the kids. About half of the teachers don't want to be there, and therefore don't teach their students well. Some teachers, though, are fantastic. They want to raise the kids up to a new level and do everything they can for the kids, but the administration limits their involvement. Some of that has to do with American culture, but some of it is just plain cowardice.
