Bland High School

Sophomore: I have only attended two school districts in my life, which isn't an astonishing number at all. However, out of the two, Bland will always be my favorite. I have also observed other school districts, and Bland still seems to top them! Bland High School is an A+ rating school with kind and encouraging faculty, wonderful students, and a positive aura. It is a small school, no doubt, and could probably used and upgraded building. However, we work with what we have got, and we make the best of it!

Alum: PHS isn't as advanced as other schools around. Lack of diversity when it came to extracurricular activities was rather upsetting at first. I was planning on continuing in orchestra but Princeton does not have one. When I registered for honors courses, I was expecting the same rigorousness I was getting from my previous school. Later to find out, their advanced classes were the equivalent to regular paced courses at my previous school. I joined the marching band, that was my highlight of my high school experience. I truly believe that the marching band is the heart and soul of the school. I've learned many lessons from being in band such as leadership and if you have a set goal, do not rest until you achieve. Yes, the school isn't the prettiest, but you can have incredible memories as long as you keep your ambitions up. The PALS program is ran by one of the most phenomenal teachers I've met. This particular teacher opened my eyes to the world in ways the I never imagined.

Senior: Classes are small, the teachers know and love their students and give them personal help. We take college classes through Collin College with lots of options. Our Counselor, Mrs. Kay, is extremely helpful in planning for graduation and how to apply for college and find scholarships. The Principal, Mr. Figueroa, is fun but strict and really wants us to have a great high school experience but be prepared for college. BRHS is pretty great for being a small school in a small town!

Caddo Mills High School

Sophomore: Caddo is a very strictly ran high school. They like showing off there prized students and they value them very much. I feel like I have a very good environment most days and only have an occasional misshape. However, Caddo has a huge problem with favorites and unfair treatment. It's very twisted in some ways. They'll protect someone who is involved in school activities even though that kid may be in the wrong. I wish everyone was treated the same and that there were no labels, but sadly there is.

Celeste High School

Senior: The teaching staff is accommodating and has a desire to make sure that the students fully understand the material being taught to them. There is a lot of pride in the school's past achievements in sports, but far too often the achievements of popular sports seem to take more precedence than academic achievement. The administration does not do a very good job with problem solving that benefits the welfare of the students. Overall, for a small school, there is a lot of value in the experience gained from attending Celeste High School.

Senior: I love playing sports here! Volleyball was my absolute favorite part of my senior year so far. The school is in a very small town, so I have built a lot of relationships- some of them will last a lifetime. For my school being so small, the opportunities and resources are pretty good. I’m thankful for the good and the bad because the school has molded me into the person I’ve become. I will miss being apart of Farmersville Independent School District, but I am excited for a new beginning.

Senior: Community High School has been an experience that I will forever be grateful for! The school puts students safety as their first priority which made me feel that I can feel comfortable knowing that I am safe and when I feel uncomfortable there is always someone there that I can talk about it. Whenever I am in need for assistance on a subject, there have been a handful of teachers willing to assist me as best as they can, which has given me a great learning experience at Community. Community has shown me what a school is all about, a safe learning environment, supporting staff members, and the love from such a community. Although, there are things I would like to change about Community such as making the student life more interesting; new activities, organizations, clubs, etc. Overall, I appreciative to have experience being a BRAVE at Community High School and I wouldn't change a thing!
