Friend High School

Senior: Friend High School is a great place. It it is a small school in a small town, so everyone really knows everyone there. The teachers have good relationships with their students and the Administration is close to the kids as well. I would say though that a lot of emphasis is put on sports, perhaps even too much sometimes. However, that is probably the only negative. I have loved my time there and I would say that it is the best secondary education school that I have attended.

Centennial Junior/Senior High School
#102 Best Public High Schools in Nebraska
- Centennial Public Schools, NE
- 9 reviews
Senior: I had a great experience at Centennial personally, but I know others did not. The teachers are very friendly but like to pick favorites based on your last name and how well you do at sports. It is a very sport driven school. The music and arts are often forgot about and always get the short end of the stick. We have many talented artists that are never appreciated. It is really sad to see the lack of funding for these programs. The school is more on the small side with an average of 35 kids per class. With small schools, you don't have many college classes or advanced classes. This makes college readiness difficult. A perk about the small school, although, is the community. Everyone knows you and you have a lot of support from fellow students, teachers, parents, etc.

Exeter-Milligan High School
- Exeter-Milligan Public Schools, NE
- 14 reviews
Senior: The most appealing part of Exeter-Milligan is the culture and family feel. You become very close with fellow students from all grades, but you also build bonds with teachers, staff, and people from the community. The one thing I would change at Exeter-Milligan would be to raise the importance of academics and extracurriculars. Athletics are obviously the priority at Exeter-Milligan. Although that can be a good thing, academics need to be acknowledged, too.

McCool Junction Junior/Senior High School

Senior: I have been going to this school for five years now, and it is very different than the other schools I have been to. You feel like you're at home, that you have a second family you can count on. Walking in to school every day to see all of the staff and students, each with their own personality, it really does make you feel like you fit in. The teaching here is great, except I would like to see more of the one on one help with the students. At McCool Junction Junior/Senior High School, I would like to see more classes that help the graduating seniors move on into the real world. To tell them about the communication skills needed, the financial situations, and just general life skills that are needed for every day living.

Fillmore Central High School

Senior: I like the size of the Fillmore Central. It is small enough that there is a strong sense of community and yet large enough for a wide range of opportunities. I appreciate the staff, many of which are alumni. They truly care about the success of students and want to help in whatever way they can. The communities surrounding Fillmore Central are also very supportive and actively attend events. With the small town feel comes disadvantages of course. Funding can be limited at times for needed things like an auditorium and a new gym. I think that with time the community and school administration can work together to solve these problems. I have faith in the future of Fillmore Central and I will be proud to graduate from there in this year. This school will always hold a special place in my heart and I am very grateful for the experiences it had offered me.
