Senior: My entire academic career has been at PHS. Throughout my years at Piper, I have developed many cherished relationships with teachers, administrators, and fellow students. I have obviously learned traditional academic content just like any other public high school. However, I have attained more important lessons within the walls of PHS, like the validity of first impressions, reciprocated respect in relationships, and recognizing beneficial relationships. I have always felt support from teachers and administrators and have my best interest at heart. I take pride in being a Pirate, but there is one reason I didn't give my school a fifth star: traditional bias. In this school, inaccurate, preceding reputation, is a influence of your experience. Before students even enter the front doors their freshman year, the staff often already has an opinion on students. I have witnessed students who don't always have a chance to prove themselves before they are already put at a disadvantage.

Senior: I have been a student at Basehor-Linwood High School for four years, and I have had a very great experience in my time there. I participate in a variety of activities, in which all excel at a high level. The teachers at BLHS are all very willing to work with students and help them succeed. My math teacher, for example, gets to school early, stays late, and makes herself available during our advisory to ensure that we are grasping concepts in her class. I have helped start two successful businesses in high school, and I will cherish those experiences forever. By doing real-world hands-on learning I have gained amazing skills that will serve me well in my college and professional career.
