Alum: I am a recent graduate of Rockwood Summit. During my time there I was involved in the school newspaper, marching band, winter guard, NHS, symphonic band, Renaissance committee and Link Crew. I took numerous AP level classes to prepare for college and was in the honors track for academics. I think my time in high school will be remembered as four years that I changed mentally, physically and socially. My senior class was disrupted by Covid-19. All of the fun things we looked forward to were cancelled but our school district got creative and provided a drive in style graduation and it was amazing! The community came together and had a parade for the seniors where the teachers lined up in parking spaces and the seniors cars wove in and out of the lanes to say goodbye. I think what started out as a disappointing last semester of high school ended up as my most memorable because of how special everyone tried to make it for us.

Senior: The school is an overall welcoming place and has lots of fun, smart, and creative teachers who are willing to help each student learn. There are special education teachers at the school if a student needs help, the counselors are willing to listen to every student to make sure they are happy, they have great family and consumer science teachers that are able to teach basic life skills to every student whether it be about cooking, talking about emotions, and childcare. The school offers a lot of clubs and sports for students to join and get involved with the community. I feel that every parent would feel good sending their child to Parkway South High School.

Alum: I graduated in 2015. Although the campus is smaller than most, it is still full of enrichment activities and educational opportunities. It's gotten many academic awards and undergone various improving renovations. Since it's the town main school district, the sense of community is very strong. The teachers are kind and care for their students, going above and beyond to help them excel if the students are determined to succeed themselves. I would love to see more creative and artistic advancements added to the school and curriculum in the future.
