Macomb Senior High School
#146 Best Public High Schools in Illinois
- Macomb Community Unit School District No. 185, IL

Senior: My experience at Macomb High School was very well spent. Thankfully, I was not bullied there and to my knowledge not much bullying is happening because of the teachers and administrators promoting the effects of bullying and why it should never be done. On top of that, the teachers and administrators are very kind and understanding for each and every student. What I would like to see changed is that more than 50 percent of the students attending are under goverment lunch and I would like to see less than 25 percent of the students be on goverment lunch. To add to that, I would love to see more student involvement throughout the community because it seems as though students do not want to be involved with community service for them wanting to spend their free time on what they would like to do, not what people would like to see them doing.

West Prairie High School

Senior: I love that West Prairie is such a small school, because it makes it very easy to get help when it is needed. When that help is needed, the teachers are very welcoming. I have never had an issue trying to get help from a teacher. The only thing I wish would change is the lunch food. My senior year, the food started to improve, but freshman through junior year, the food was not very good. There were many times students would get rotten milk.

Southeastern Junior/Senior High School
- Southeastern Community Unit School District No. 337, IL
- 15 reviews
Parent: I moved back to the district before I had a surgery because I had one very young child and a teen child who was testing even her mother. I knew returning to my elder daughter’s home district was best for my family. My eldest became a better student and graduated collage. My youngest with an high iq can be frightened easily. I’ve never had to ask a teacher in the district to be careful. My youngest had a little moment of bullying but as soon as I communicated the problem it was taken care of quickly. The teachers give more then what is expected. If you don’t pay attention you might not even know because they don’t need recognition.
Not every school is perfect! I thought the grass is always greener in the other district... our family is proof it doesn’t always have to be greener (more money) ... to meet the social, emotional and academic need of each child and family.

Senior: The sports are great! The teachers all just want the best for you and help you meet any needs your wanting to accomplish, the band department is great! Everyone is so nice and respectful and there’s never a dull moment and class is always fun and hands on. The school helps you when things at home aren’t so good and they’re flexible when days are bad and just an all around good school to attend
