Tremont High School

Senior: Tremont High School is an amazing place! The teachers there are fantastic, the education taught is exceptional, and the friends you make last a lifetime. I loved Tremont High School because the teachers are extremely understanding and care deeply about each of their students. The teachers go above and beyond to make sure students are not struggling and to assist them in areas that they need help in. There is not a lot I would change about Tremont High School. If I had to change one thing, I would probably change how we have our lunch period. Tremont is very small so we have one lunch period for grades 9-12. That has always worked out fine, but now the class sizes are getting bigger so students are now sitting on the floor in the hallway because there's not enough room. I would change us to have 2 lunch periods instead of just having one big lunch period. Other than that small change, Tremont High School is a great place to go to school!

Senior: I am a senior at dee mack high school, in all my 4 years I have had great experience with this high school. I have felt safe and felt like I can trust administration and staff. One thing I would change about it is to have a bigger parking lot for students because as the classes get bigger more and more students will get their liscense to drive. Overall I think its a great school!

Olympia High School
#272 Best Public High Schools in Illinois
- Olympia Community Unit School District No. 16, IL
- 54 reviews
Senior: Olympia High School is home to many teachers who are focused on individualizing each student's learning experience. Olympia has also provided each student with a chromebook to take every advantage offered by technology to advance education. However, in an effort to progress education, Olympia has adopted Standards Based Grading (SBG) and eliminated the use of a traditional grading system (A-F). The swift implementation has resulted in some confusion regarding a student's grades and what is necessary to achieve the best grade. There are also multiple activities and athletics for students to be involved in which include musical, social, intellectual, and physical options. Of course, if students wish to establish their own club, they are encouraged to do so.

Pekin Community High School
- Public School
- Pekin, IL
- 203 reviews
Senior: Pekin Community High School, deserves more credit than it is normally given. Lots of students complain about the administration being poor or the teachers not caring about their students, but they do. These students who only have negative things to say are the ones who are consistently in the dean's office for breaking rules and doing things they know will land them in trouble. As for diversity, while Pekin doesn't have the greatest racial diversity (which can be attributed to the actual population of the city), it is growing. They also have a lot of socio-economic diversity, which is always a great and shows that the school is not discriminatory towards those of a lower class.
