Sophomore: Brookings high school has many opportunities and different classes depending on your interest. Even if you’re not sure what you’re interested in or what you want to pursue in the future, they have plenty of options to find out about different things and let you play around with your interests. If you know what your interested in, mostly any of them will have an assortment of of things. Let’s say your interested in art, they have painting and drawing classes, sculpture and ceramics, photography, different graphic classes, and it’s just spreads on to different topics. Aside from classes, most of the teachers are amazing and will not only try to connect to you on an educational level, but on a personal one. They want to help you succeed and do the best that you can so you can do great things. Most of the teachers i have had at this school have left a good impact on me and I still chat with them to this day.

Senior: Flandreau provided the greatest academic facility that I have involved myself with in a long time. The teachers are kind, outgoing, and extraordinarily helpful, the students are friendly and open to one another, and the with the class size being small, there is fluid interaction among everyone. The educational experience is something I have been wishing to experience in a very long time, for the teachers present a very concise, interactive, and fulfilling learning experience. I really cannot ask for any more than what they have provided.

Senior: The school was amazing. The gym and sports teachers were friendly and supportive, and the STEM teachers tried to help us learn. The guidance counselor was also helpful.
The problem I have with it is that the students are rarely disciplined for extreme action. Bullying and heckling are common.
Other than that, I recommend the school.

Flandreau Indian Boarding School

Niche User: Flandreau Indian School is a boarding school. At first I struggled being away from home but then it got easier when I start making friends. FIS doesn't allow drugs, alcohol, or violence so it is pretty easy to stay out of trouble. If you do get into trouble you have to do manual labor and work it off. They keep you in a routine so you know to expect but they have outings every weekend and dances every friday, and movies almost every night. It was a really fun place if you followed the rules and did your work in school. I miss them 'Dreau days and I would definitely pick this school again if I had to do it all over. So many memories...
