Alum: Lincoln East has a lot of great teachers! Most of them really want you to succeed! The school admin is fine, I think they could have been more friendly. The students aren't the best honestly. Alum: Though I only got the chance to go here for a year and a half, I wouldn't have wanted to graduate from anywhere else. Millard West has the best administrative team on Earth! I have been to four different school districts throughout k-12 and I have never felt more important/cared about by my higher-ups. During my time at Millard West, I was able to regain confidence and become more involved in the things I love. Senior: My experience at Elkhorn High was very memorable. Because of it’s challenging and rigorous curriculum, it brought out some of my best qualities and helped me develop a work ethic that will set me up for success throughout college and the rest of my life. I learned so much at Elkhorn and I feel very prepared for college! However, there are times where the amount of work that teachers assign us can be a little overwhelming, and I think students could have a slightly lighter workload while achieving the same amount of preparation for college. I moved to Elkhorn my sophomore year, and making friends was hard for me initially. Luckily, through sports, I was able to make some close friends that share some of my core values and are able to have fun. Senior: Southwest Highschool is an amazing school to go to. First, I would like to start with the good parts of Southwest that make every student "Silverhawk-ready". Southwest has a multitude of state-recognized extracurriculars such as, its nationally-ranked theater department, and award-winning debate and speech teams. It is also home to many nationally recognized clubs such as DECA and HOSA. Clubs are not the only thing that helps the student become their best selves. They also have a dedicated group of teachers that work on block scheduling to help students familiarize themselves with college-level study. Although, Southwest has a few places where they need to do better. In my experience, this comes in the form of protecting minority groups in this school. Many young people who identify as LGBTQ+ have faced bullying and discrimination from students and members of staff. Senior: The school really tries at being a great and welcoming place for everyone and I think it succeed very well at doing so. There are issues here and there where it doesn't seem to relate as to why there are those choices made by the school, but it is all in their best interests. The teachers are welcoming and if you bother to try to get your work done and show that you care about what you're doing and that you want to make a difference, they'll be glad to have you here. Parent: Elkhorn North has been great for my student. My older kids graduated from Elkhorn High but my last is going to Elkhorn North since we live in that boundary area. What we love is that the teachers, guidance counselors, administration, coaches, everyone is supportive, caring, holds all kids to high expectations, and the staff works hard to ensure my kids get it. The school is clean, safe, and a place kids like to be. Senior: I enjoy this school because the environment is usually pretty good. Lots of the teachers are very pleasant to interact with, and their classes are very informative. I think there is a good balance of teachers, with some being laid-back and other being pretty strict. They really push you to prepare for your future and provide many resources to help you. The only real problems I have had is with fellow students, and when the problems were reported the school did their best to solve them. However, I have known people who weren't so lucky and had to transfer schools in order to avoid the constant racism displayed by fellow students, and I admit that the school could have done a better job dealing with the nasty students. Senior: Over the past few years at Crofton, I have had a great experience! I honestly don't want to graduate because of the experience that I have had at Crofton. Whether it be the girls' basketball team that I have been a part of that allowed me to experience being a state champion or the seniors' last day where they played the teachers in dodgeball. Overall it has just been incredible. The education at Crofton is truly unmatched. Senior: Here at West Holt High School, the teachers and faculty members here are amazing. I've never had a problem with going to a teacher for help. Along with the teachers, the parents of the school are very involved as well. They help with fundraising, volunteering, and are part of the Boosters Club. The parents deserve a lot of credit for all their hard work. Since coming to school here, I've noticed my grades have gone up as well as my social skills. I've become involved in more activities than when I was a freshman. I'm in yearbook, art, FFA, dance, NHS, and I'm a track manager. I believe that I'm being well prepared for college. Every Wednesday, we meet with our guidance counselor about scholarships, college visits, and prepares us for college and graduation. Overall, West Holt is a good school. Senior: NBC is a small-town school with just a little over 300 students. This allows you to have real connections with the teachers and makes learning fun! The small size also allows students to know just about everyone they come across and this creates a very friendly environment. The administration is nothing short of excellent with teachers who actually know how to teach and faculty members who are very kind understanding. I haven't had a teacher that I felt didn't care about my education and even though I've given them a tough time they stay positive and try to find ways to help. Another great thing about NBC is that it is a beautiful building with great infrastructure and is very easy to navigate for new students and the sports programs are nothing less than exceptional with tough coaches who focus more on building character rather than winning, but that doesn't mean it doesn't carry over. with many state titles held by sports and extracurriculars NBC has lots of pride.
