Senior: I love Collierville High School. The teachers are great and will really invest their time in you if you put in the work. Our fine arts are fantastic with our band, orchestra, and choir winning many competitions. Our sports teams are ok, but they are climbing back up to the top!(Our basketball team went to the state championship this year) Nevertheless, our school is loaded with spirit, with kids participating during homecoming week and other school spirit weeks. Niche User: Lewisburg High School is great academically. They challenge you and push you to do your best. The teachers and staff are exceptional. I've always felt safe and protected at this school. However, there isn't enough college prep or career targeted classes, in my opinion. They have one career and college readiness class, which was slightly useful. I wish they went into more depth in the class to prepare us better for our future. On the topic of our future, I would have liked to see more career specific courses. For example, I am interested in Veterinary Medicine, but I didn't have the same resources to learn more like those interested in nursing did. Senior: My experience here at Desoto Central has been great. I have had opportunities that I had tried and had helped me grow as a person. They helped me understand many things and helped me realize how life is truly important. There have been times I had been down and lose in life but the counselors have helped me find solutions to many of my problems. My band experience has been great! I was able to create many friends and another family that I had joined! They have helped me personally and academically! Senior: Arlington High School has been a great experience for me. I have enjoyed every moment of it. The teachers genuinely care about you and your grades. They go the extra mile to help you get where you want/need to be. There are clubs for just about everybody. It is easy to fit in and feel at home at Arlington because there is so much to choose from. The academics are wonderful as well. They can accommodate you personally in various ways. There are Dual Credit, Dual Enrollment and AP classes offered. Another great thing about Arlington is that they offer classes related to the students’ career interests. For example, they offer classes centered around welding, nursing, STEM, and they even have a “work base” class which gives students the opportunity to leave school early at the end of the day to go to work. Senior: I'm a rising senior, and though I spent most of my high school years dealing with Covid, I feel that Middle College has really prepared me for life beyond high school. Middle College offers Dual Enrollment (college level), AP, Dual Credit, and Honors classes. With that said, the work load is strenuous! The school has amazing teachers though, and they all challenge students just enough to help us learn but keep us actively engaged in our high school community. Middle College also works hard to engage students in ways other than academics as well, like through student government, 30+ clubs/organizations, and athletic activities. This helps us build leadership and teamwork qualities that we will be able to take to other places. Literally everyone is involved in something, and if someone isn't, they are truly trying not to be. Senior: Bartlett is a nice school with a very nice environment overall. Lots of time and effort has gone into making the building a nice space and the effort is much appreciated! The teachers are often nice and supporting, encouraging and fostering growth. The education is good and I do appreciate everything the school has provided me. The only thing that it sad for me is that there aren’t many chances to take college-level courses as a lower class-man, meaning you fall behind in the college process in my opinion. Like other schools you can start taking APs, for example, freshman year, but you don’t get that experience here. Parent: Crosstown provides an excellent educational experience compared to other public high schools in Memphis. They are not a traditional school. Instead, they focus heavily on project-based learning. All students are responsible for a year-long Capstone project every year with the idea it helps prepare students for real-world working scenarios. They have a fantastic Student Support Team who focuses on restorative justice rather than punitive punishment. They are very open and responsive to a diverse student body, including students who identify differently. The College/Career counselor is amazing and sees every single senior several times a year. Alum: Coming to Germantown High School, I liked the fact that it is like a campus. Each building does not exactly have just one main subject. For instance, C building is the language building. The language courses are all on the second floor as on the first, it contains theater, band, orchestra, and choir. Moving on, the school spirit is really awesome! From homecomings to teachers versus students basketball game and finally senior week, the energy and spirit is really lively! Though there may not be a lot of pep rallies compared to middle/elementary throughout each year, you can definitely fill each year with other school events like checking out the theater's play or joining a club. Speaking of clubs, there are many. An example would be the cooking club and anime and gaming club. If you can not find one that you like, you can always make a club yourself along with your peers and friends. Food is decent. Senior: Munford High school is a academically challenging high school that pushes their students to perform their upmost on all important exams. What I like about my school is hiw students interact and improve based on their own efforts and how the teachers and staff interact with said students. The sports programs here are constantly looking to strive for higher goals and place themselves at a level of recognition not from only those around here but all over the state of Tennessee. At Munford High we have classes for our junior class to help prepare them for one if the most important test of their lives; the ACT. Said students will spend an entire school year preparing for and learing about the ACT in order to reach a level they though impossible for themselves. Senior: Brighton High School is a friendly safe school that puts students needs first and encourages above average learning. The administration and teachers are wonderful at helping students each day with assignments and providing additional one on one help in tutoring if needed. They also have many clubs and elective classes to accommodate for students differing interests each year. Another attribute is the safety of students and faculty at the school is a top priority. Two resource officers are in the buildings each day for security and safety of the students. Alum: I had a great experience at Millington Central High School. I was very fortunate to have such amazing teachers that are mentors now for my future as a woman in the work force. There are a variety of extracurriculars and courses available based on current interest and prospective career paths. The school offers CTE courses that prepare for professional desires and expands knowledge that will be learned at a collegiate level. Those educators show immense care for each individual even when it didn't involve education alone. We had many opportunities to excel as young, prosperous young adults. I would change the bias restrictions on females. The girls had more guidelines. Girls were always pointed out when the guys were not with the dress code. The students began to rebel against the regulations stating the unfair standard that each student couldn't express themselves to an extent because it was a distraction to the male students. Senior: So I had my freshman year online, it was my hardest year and my worst year. Once 10th grade started, I tried to be involved in almost everything. I joined the band and I did colorguard.
