Senior: If you've seen any rankings/reviews, you know this school is rigorous. But because students choose to attend this high school, the student body consists of like-minded individuals who like learning and pushing academic boundaries There is a spot for everyone here—as each class is ~100 students, Signature has a very close-knit community. The faculty is amazing without exception; their love for teaching and care for the students is clear Signature feels like home. The countless clubs—with focuses in service, language/culture, academics, pride, sports (esp. recent years), etc—encourage intergrade interactions & relationships This school has an open campus! Many students go out to eat and most enjoy lunch outside. There are currently 3 buildings, and for this reason (considering it's in downtown Evansville), students must take extra care to be safe. Senior: I have had a great experience at Castle High School. I have made a lot of friends and gotten a great education. The teachers at Castle do everything they can to get you ready for college and later in life. Teachers create a good environment in the classroom, somewhere were all of the students can get along and communicate. Some teachers allow open discussions, helping students express their opinions about certain topics. This gives each student a way to express their beliefs and maybe adopt new ones. The students at Castle High School are very welcoming and friendly as well. Bullying is never an issue and upperclassmen take the younger students under their wing. This makes the underclassmen feel like they fit in and give them a good high school experience as soon as they get there. Counselors are always there to help students as well. Senior: North High School is a relatively new school with good facilities, many resources, and many teachers that genuinely care for the health and well-being of their students. A large number of clubs cater to just about any interest one could have with a diverse crowd and generally welcoming people. While the food is average, there are many snacks to fuel the school's students. This is a high school that puts special interest in the sciences and maths, but also the performing arts, liberal arts, and visual arts. Senior: One of my favorite things about Daviess County is how welcoming the school is. They have many different clubs and sports that everyone is welcome to join. We have club day once a month, where we get the chance to all get-together and meet new people. I've met so many of my friends from the clubs and sports at Daviess County. One thing that I think could change about Daviess County is the class time. We have 4, 1 1/2 hour classes every day for a full semester. I wish we had either shorter and more classes or had an alternating schedule where our classes change every other day. Overall, Daviess County is a great school and somewhere I'm proud to attend!... Senior: I have truly enjoyed my high school experience. The small school experience and the teacher-to-student ratio have been one of the best attributes of our school. Many of my friends attend larger schools and don't even know all of their classmates while at Tecumseh I know everyone including the facility and staff. There are also many clubs available and if there is any that you and a group want to join, then you can submit a request, and if a faculty member agrees to sponsor you can start a new club. Also, our sports and sporting facilities are top-notch. Our girl's basketball team, softball team, baseball team, dance team, volleyball team, cross-country runner, and two track and field athletes have gone to state in the past two years. Junior: GSHS has been great for me, but I wish the sports were better. Our football and girls' basketball teams are good, but I play volleyball. We haven't even gone to state in a LONG time. Other than that, everything is GREAT. Cafeteria food is mouth-watering most days, teachers are understanding and committed, there are SO many clubs and activities, there's a huge pick of science and math courses, advanced and not, and the theatre department is very welcoming and fun to be a part of. Freshman: Mount Vernon is a semi-decent school to go to, especially for a public school. Mount Vernon doesn't have a very diverse selection of classes so it's hard to get a full, well rounded education. Mount Vernon does have a good selection of athletics, there is something for everybody to get involved in. There isn't a orchestra but there is a multiple bands to join and choirs. Senior: Francis Joseph Reitz High School is a well rounded high school. They are very welcoming to the new students that come in either as freshman or transfers like I was. They were very helpful in showing me where all of the classes are and etc. The student body is large in number and majority of the students are very nice kids, in terms of allowing others in their friend groups. The teachers are amazing and the administration is very helpful. Reitz High School is an amazing school and I am so glad that I made the change when I did! I am entirely grateful for what the teachers have taught me and I am grateful for all of the students that made me feel welcome into their school. Senior: I am a senior at Apollo and have gone here all 4 years of high school. One thing I love about Apollo are the teachers and staff. They are so nice, funny, caring, etc. I always feel like I'm known and cared for. They make class much more enjoyable. Some of the classes we have to take I feel like are irrelevant and boring, but that is probably the case at every high school. There is at least one good food option every day, which is also nice. Some of them are actually very good. The breaks in-between classes are 6 minutes long, which gives more than enough time to do whatever needs to be done between classes. Alum: My experience with William Henry Harrison High School was the best yet! What I really loved about this school is the way they care about their students. Senior: Boonville High School has a great student body, and gives students multiple chances to get involved with the school through sport and clubs, along with offering seniors information about upcoming scholarships, after high school opportunities, and SAT/ACT dates and preparations. Along with this, the band and choir programs have achieved some incredible things for such a small school. And, most of the teachers at Boonville High School generally care more about what is learned rather than the grade from the class. Sophomore: Most teachers are funny, caring and cool. It’s mostly a relaxing school compared to all the others. Teachers don’t shame you for needing help, they joke around and are close with the kids and we usually have fun. I wish we could do more hands on activities but other than that it’s a pretty good school. It gets a bad rap for kids going there because they’ve gotten kicked out of other schools or from Hillcrest but a lot are there because it’s easier to graduate especially to graduate early and most kids are cool. There’s not really any cliques there like every other school.
