Junior: Germantown High School has an outstanding variety of clubs and electives. In fact, Germantown has the only United Sound chapter in the entire state! Another thing Germantown is known for is its rigorous academic standards—which look great on transcripts, but put lots of pressure on students. The work load can cause students to fall behind and engage in unhealthy coping mechanisms. One thing Germantown needs to improve is its bullying policy. They claim that it’s zero-tolerance, yet bullies get away with multiple warnings before administration does anything—clearly violating the terms of “zero-tolerance”. Nevertheless, Germantown does a great job of preparing students to face immense pressure. In competitions like DECA, FBLA, and DI, students from Germantown often end up taking the lead. Sophomore: This school has the most motivating and supportive environment any student would need! They have so much to offer with a variety of college level courses such as CAPP, AP, and honors classes. Their extracurriculars that they offer are incredible such as health sciences, agriculture, tech ed, accounting, you name it. The teachers will do anything to help you out and see you succeed. This school is just the right challenge for any advanced student but will offer as much help as needed to those who struggle. I feel very prepared and confident in my future in college and a real job. School and life balance is achievable. I really cannot think of anything bad about this district in general.... Alum: I enjoyed the opportunities that this high school had to offer. It prepared me for most real world issues, however I think that another financial class could have helped. Senior: Hartford highschool, doesn't get the best reputation, however they really do create a home like enviornment. These past four years of high-school, I have been devoting my life to school, sports, and work. During the summer I have been full time since the age of 14 working at Erin Hills Golf course. During the school year I am busy 6 nights a week throughout the whole year due to golf and basketball. On top of that maintaining a 3.5 GPA. With all of this, being captain on golf and basketball varsity teams, I'm right in that in between stage of not quite being good enough for sports, and not being smart enough academically to receive a scholarship. On top of that, I have not spent a cent of my money that I've made, other than some golf clubs and gas, and with all of that money saved up, I'll only be able to pay for 1 year of college. I believe I'm a great applicant for this because I'm personable and dependable, and when my mind is on one thing, you won't be let down.... Read 251 reviews
