Parent: Vista Academy recently changed their name. They are now Amarillo Collegiate Academy, but it's still a school of choice with a small-town feel. Two buildings house K-12 with approx. 500 students. The student to teacher ratio is great and the staff are caring; you can tell they are devoted to helping each individual student. The kids have the opportunity to have NO HOMEWORK, if they are diligent during the school day. The option to have a COLLEGE DEGREE or at least credits out of the way when students graduate high school is a HUGE benefit for our family! The school does not have a sports nor music program, but they are developing them by use of after school clubs. Our kids feel very safe at school, and we feel safe having them there. Most don't like wearing uniforms, but the uniforms are affordable and the school allows many options, so that's a bonus for us parents. Niche User: I liked that everything was at your own pace. If you wanted to graduate a year early and you were motivated and worked hard, then you could succeed and accomplish that goal with no problem! The days were from 12-4 for the afternoon classes and it went by smoothly ! What I would like to see change, is for the school to get my recognition for itself.
