Garrison High School
#1 Best Public High Schools in Nacogdoches County
- Garrison Independent School District, TX
Parent: Great small school environment. Everyone knows each other and helps one another. Bad thing is it's a small school so funds are very limited. They need to retain better teachers. Spend more money on dual credit classes and college preparedness.
Sports takes priority sometimes because that is where the school gets money.
They try to get the students ready for college by offering honors classes and dual credit college classes. But the school only pays for one class per year, so the rest is on the parents.

Cushing Middle/High School
#3 Best Public High Schools in Nacogdoches County
- Cushing Independent School District, TX
High School Senior: I love this school because it is a really close knit community as a whole. Most everyone is really supportive and you're free to be who you want to be. With it being such a small school, it is really easy to develop a relationship with your teachers who are really understanding. I once missed a full week of school, but the teachers worked with me so my grade wouldn't suffer. All I can say is I would never choose anywhere else.

The Village School

Junior: My experience at The Village School has been truly amazing. From smaller class sizes, closer teacher-student interactions, and well-learned and experienced teachers and staff, I’ve been able to get the attention I need to enhance my learning experience. Village has also allowed me to discover my passions and interests through the various clubs, extracurriculars, electives, and sports that it offers. In addition, the diversity of the students at Village makes this place so unique. Gaining exposure to the various cultures present at this school has definitely made me more open-minded and accepting of people of different backgrounds. I honestly couldn’t see myself in another high school!

Nacogdoches High School
- Nacogdoches Independent School District, TX
Senior: The Nacogdoches High School is a World Class School. My first experience coming to this school as a freshman was welcoming, the students and teachers care about each other’s wellbeing. I felt safe and they treated me like family. The staff’s main focus is our education and future. I recommend any incoming students join any club or sport they can. The Nacogdoches High School has a very good sports program, the coaches build physically and mentally strong students. One’s a student becomes a senior the school will get them ready for college as much as they can. I would like the school to start getting students ready for college a little more earlier to get a taste on how college is. I still highly recommend one to attend the Nacogdoches High School.
