Senior: When I tell others that Texas High is the place to be, I mean this wholeheartedly. Being in a school accepting me for who I am is heartwarming. My entire life, as I progressed through Middle and Elementary school, I was severely bullied. Going to school felt like a chore. The only thing I was getting used to as a kid was being pushed around and mocked. However, the environment was so welcoming when I first came to Texas High. I felt so loved and cherished that every problem that occurred in the past began to wash away. I love Texas High with all my heart and would never trade it, not even for the world. The faculty, classmates, and athletes are all welcoming. It's going to be such a sad moment when I graduate and let go of Texas High. That's one actual place I can call home... Read 328 reviews

Senior: Hooks high school is an amazing environment for all types of students. There is 100% less bullying compared to other schools. Because this High School is so small, everyone treats each other like family. One complaint I have about this school would be protection. One side of the school is gated and the other is open. I feel that our protection isn’t taken as serious because we’ve never had any huge emergency. However in this day and age, protection is key. Senior: Extracurricular is Pleasant Grove's biggest strong suit, with a wide selection of activities and organizations for student be involved in. On this topic, however, Pleasant Grove's football program overshadows most other programs. The football program gets far from an equivalent amount attention and resources. Some sports don't even have coaches that are familiar with their sport because the priority when hiring is that they can first and foremost coach football. The ratio of good to bad teachers I've had while attending Pleasant Grove likely doesn't lean in favor of the good teachers. Several departments are lacking in their ability to educate and several teacher's qualifications for their subjects are in question. However, it should not go without saying that Pleasant Grove has a handful of great teachers. Senior: It is a great school for people who are focused on graduating early. It gives you the opportunity to finish and excel early. Also, this school can help and helps students who are struggling in regular high school and gives them a chance to graduate. Senior: Maud is a wonderful school district. The administration is amazing, the only downside being that they switch members almost every two years, but otherwise, they are wonderful. The teachers make sure that you learn to the best of your ability. The staff is amazing. The academics are the best part of the school. Sports are really great. Senior: I enjoyed going to this school. The Administrators care about us. The teachers reach out to us and make sure that we are making the right decisions and actually learning the school work. The sports are amazing. Our District went to the playoffs for Football, Basketball, and are currently going to the playoffs in Baseball. The Track Teams are amazing and are going to State. Alum: I graduated a long time ago and James Bowie was a small country School. My graduating class had 42 graduates and I graduated in the Top Ten in 1980, actually top 6th. I took pride in my school and my grades. I was an athlete and in the Band. I was a majorette. I was Junior Class President and not only voted but earned the honor-Most Athletic my Senior Year. We were a very close bunch of students and still get together every so often. I loved going to school at James Bowie, it was like having a second family. James Bowie has grown a lot since I went to school. The school has been updated and there are lost of new buildings on the campus. The student population has become diverse.
