Senior: I had a great educational experience at Hononegah. I had my ups and downs throughout my high school career, but I had a great support of friends and teachers who cared about me. There were so many ways to get involved with student activities and further my leadership abilities by taking on different tasks. The band room became my home and where I felt the most accepted by all my fellow musicians.
If I had to change something about Hononegah, it would be just the way that students feel accepted and how administration deals with bullying. I think there should be a system in place to help students (especially underclassmen) find friends and have an upperclassmen be there for them as they begin to navigate high school. I think they should also add more storage so that certain equipment isn't stored in the hallways.
Overall, I had the best four years of my life at Hononegah and I wouldn't change a thing!

Senior: Auburn has a very advanced educational program since it has the Rockford Public School gifted program. The teachers are very supportive and are willing to help whenever a student asks. As long as the student is willing to learn, there are no issues with the teachers. Most the students at Auburn are accepting of all lifestyles. Faculty and students are overall very friendly. Recent additions to the school have created new opportunities for differing classes therefore allowing for the students to have a more diverse class schedule. The school supports the students and will allow for increased job opportunity in the future.

Alum: I was so fortunate to go to school here — AMAZING school district. I loved the teachers, they were always helpful & there for you and were amazing teachers Academically with great personalities. The school is very football oriented and other sports don’t get as much attention; however, the Football team has a history of being great (which brings in money & attention) & the head coach does a ton of fundraising (unlike many other sports) — so it makes sense why the town is so football oriented. This was my only complaint about going there, being a female who played sports other than football, but i understand why my sports didn’t receive the attention or funding that football did. Anyone who speaks less about this school didn’t utilize their resources or has biased information.

Pecatonica High School

Senior: I really liked that Pecatonica High School is a small school, which allowed me to play multiple sports. I also liked that I was able to go in and talk to my teachers at any time, and they got to know us on a personal level, which showed that they cared. They were always willing to help whenever I had questions. Because the school is small, I know the administration well, and they are always pushing us to do our best and be as prepared for college as possible. One thing I wish Pecatonica High School offered was more elective class choices. I would have liked to have an opportunity to take classes teaching us some basic life skills, such as cooking, paying bills, and managing money.

Alum: Excellent school! Fairly small (my graduating class was about 350 students and we were one of the largest classes), rural (think Tractor Day where students drive their tractors to school). The offer AP classes and, if you are on track to graduate early, give you the option of taking college classes your senior year. Some college professors even come to school to teacher (e.g. Calculus and Statistics)! They tie into the local community college. They are about as diverse as a rural school usually is, but don't let that deter you. They care deeply about their students, with the principal knowing every student's name. As the fourth kid to go through school, it was a nice personal touch. They also tie heavy into FFA. I suggest trying a school club or group like Stage Club or their championship football team (which was top-notch).
