Palisades High School
#3 Best High Schools for STEM in Allentown Area
- Palisades School District, PA
- Rating 3.51 out of 5 102 reviews
Senior: Palisades High School is a great school! Although small, it has a great academic program and gives students a large choice for AP classes. There is also a wide variety of normal academic classes and extracurricular activities. Facilities are decent, some areas of the school could definitely need some fixing. The science wing is currently being refitted to be more accomodating to students for the next school year. The school overall is very good but not very diverse, it also can be considered a small school as there are 598 students as of 2020.

Nazareth Area High School

Senior: The teachers are excellent, and technology integration is very good. Friendly and open environment as well, with many opportunities available to students. On the flipside, my personal experience with counselors has been middling, and it is difficult to contact them for information and help with issues unless one has scheduled an appointment with them in the office. I've also seen drugs passed around and talked about casually in school, despite campaigns against them. The school has recently been focusing on its athletics program too, and has been pouring money in that direction. We'll see how it goes.

Saucon Valley Senior High School
#5 Best High Schools for STEM in Allentown Area
- Saucon Valley School District, PA
- Rating 3.63 out of 5 139 reviews
Sophomore: I am currently a sophomore at Saucon Valley High school. I love the school and the teachers, as they know how to prepare us for college. However, what I don’t like about Saucon Valley is that as a new student, it’s very hard to make friends. The students are unwelcome and are often very “clicky”. I also don’t like how most of the high school is obsessed with class rank and gpa. Although this aspect is important for college, it affects high school greatly because students take AP classes just for the extra credit and don’t bother to really learn the material. Super competitive students and teachers who encourage this behavior really make the high school experience unpleasant.

Southern Lehigh Senior High School
#6 Best High Schools for STEM in Allentown Area
- Southern Lehigh School District, PA
- Rating 3.58 out of 5 301 reviews
Senior: Through the tumultuous years of my high school career, Southern Lehigh tried their hardest to make the experience as positive as possible. However, there are a few things one should consider before entering the district/school. The policies regarding coronavirus and the resulting closings/education failed to meet the standards of education one should receive and disappointed many students and staff. Southern Lehigh has a largely white population, so if you are expecting diversity, you will not see much of it. Competitive academics and athletics define this school, so be aware of that. Other than that, take advantage of what they have to offer and you'll be set.

Wilson Area High School
#7 Best High Schools for STEM in Allentown Area
- Wilson Area School District, PA
- Rating 3.82 out of 5 76 reviews
Middle School Student: Wilson Area High School really helped me be a better person and taught me how to be better student, be organized, and be patient with everything I do or learn. Wilson really has a great environment. The students and faculty make you feel as if you are family. The teachers are very helpful they helped me a lot through my freshman to senior year of high school. The school never makes you feel like you are out of place or uncomfortable. The principle and the vice principle are really nice and are also very helpful they help you with a lot of things they sometimes check up on you if they see that you are falling behind and they figure out a way or game plan to make sure that you are back on track. The students are also really nice. I think personally that this school really helped me education wise and really encouraged me to get straight A's through all my years of high school.

Northwestern Lehigh High School
#8 Best High Schools for STEM in Allentown Area
- Northwestern Lehigh School District, PA
- Rating 3.62 out of 5 193 reviews
Senior: Northwestern Lehigh high school is a great school that offers many opportunities to its students. They have an outstanding academic program that allows students freedom and flexibility with the classes they take. By offering a block schedule students only have 4 classes a semester and also have the opportunity to double up on a language or math/science in a given year. Personally, this helped me learn more of the material I was interested in and better prepared me for college and my career.
As well as there scheduling, the school is also filled with top of the line teachers who are very supportive and look to help their students each and every day.
In addition to academics, Northwestern Lehigh also has some of the best sports teams and clubs in the area. This can be attributed to the positive environments established in all of these spaces. We are consistently able to outperform other schools and I believe this one of a kind atmosphere is why.

Emmaus High School
#10 Best High Schools for STEM in Allentown Area
- East Penn School District, PA
- Rating 3.75 out of 5 351 reviews
Senior: I've had a really good experience at Emmaus High School! I've had countless opportunities for the things I'm interested in, including the school newspaper (through which I have participated in three journalism conferences, won an award in a contest, and gotten lots of good experience for my future career in journalism), the art-literary magazine, the world language programs, and multiple other clubs and activities. The school offers classes on every possible subject, so it's sometimes difficult to choose between different classes to take. The faculty and staff are wonderful, and always work to build connections with the students. I've made so many lasting connections and friendships with my teachers and peers at Emmaus, and had an amazing experience these past 4 years overall.

Northampton Area High School

- Rating 3.67 out of 5 219 reviews
Senior: I participate on the varsity track and field and cross country teams. I enjoy the closeness of the members on these teams. I have made lasting friendships. I enjoyed being a role model as a captain for the past 2 years and help to push the younger members achieve their personal best. Also, Northampton high school has caring teachers who are wiling to go the extra mile and help you be successful! I also had the opportunity to be a member of several other clubs, such as winter track, volunteer club, PE club, and Leadership club. I learned a lot of valuable life skills being a member of these clubs. I enjoyed helping others in my community during volunteer club. Helping others gave me a sense of purpose and I enjoyed spreading happiness to others in my community.
