Alum: The teachers were very personable and made sure students were getting a good education. It was a family community feel and made for making great relationships. The school was not incredibly diverse and I’d love to see this change. I know over the last few years this has improved and it makes me very happy to see London High School embracing diversity in their community! The school district was very small, but I believe they are now expanding and adding more staff and buildings! This is very exciting as I know many people wanted their children to come here. Senior: Port A is an amazing school. the small school environment allows teachers to really connect and help students. The entire community backs the school and supports the students. Alum: Flour Bluff School District was a great experience for me. Every teacher I had loved their job and loved their students. The Administration also stood up for the students in Flour Bluff when problems arose in the district. Problems like; fires, outside threats, bad weather conditions, power outages, and more. Likewise, the security in the school made sure of the students and staff of the schools safety. The student body cared for one another for the and everyone helped one another. Senior: Out of all the high schools in the Corpus Christi Independent school district, this one is the best! All of the staff are very welcoming and have a lot of pride in the work they are doing and show a strong passion for the students. Veterans Memorial also has many great programs to get involved with including the award winning band and choir and the many outstanding sports programs who often see great success. Senior: My experience at W.B. Ray High School has been incredible. I transferred to Ray for my senior year of High School and I sincerely wish that I could've attended all four years. We have an International Baccalaureate program which is extraordinary and a variety of On Ramps classes with the University of Texas at Austin. The culture is so diverse at Ray, the counselors and the registrar office workers are so patient and friendly. The students are so welcoming and our student body has so much spirit! I'm so proud to be a fighting Texan! One thing I would like to see changed is having the theatre department renovated. The theatre hall is a bit outdated and could just use a bit of TLC! Senior: This school is amazing! I am senior at this school and the support system from the teachers, staff, and counselors is amazing. The environment from students is also wonderful, there always seems to be individuals that you can hang out with. Nobody is left out and everybody is included at the school. It also helps that students have the opportunity to get their associate's degree of liberal arts at Collegiate! One has the opportunity to also make connections with professors which is something that I did to get my letter of recommendation. Senior: My honest opinion about my four years experience at Harold T. Branch Academy Career and technical, Early college high school? I have to start freshmen year when I realized myself that this high school was the right high school for me, when out of nowhere someone did an act of kindness and zipped up my backpack for me when I didn't realize. Usually someone would steal from you if your bag was open like that back in middle school but in Branch, you can leave your phone, your laptop, your bag on a bench and use the restroom ad go get lunch and it will still be there. That's just the beginning, in most school, teachers can be very unsupportive of their students but in Branch, teachers and staff were willing to drive us to college or buy supplies for us when we needed it. Students, either above or below you, will help you if you need it because you will need it, especially in college Algebra. Senior: I moved to Tuloso-Midway in 8th grade. I remember the day I moved to TM like it was yesterday. Transferring to TM as a new student was scary, but the teachers, staff, coaches, and other students made me feel like I was at home. TM understood how scared I was about transferring to a new school and did everything they could to make me feel comfortable and heard. TM took all of my opinions and suggestions and created things with them. I admire how open TM is to all of my new ideas and how welcoming they are to new students. They make sure each and every one of their students is doing well physically and most importantly mentally. I've been to many schools but I've never before felt the care from teachers at SST at others schools. SST also prepares students for college as soon as their freshman year. Senior: Moody high school is a school to whoever. We are accepting to all. What I like most about this school was the academic classes. We are the only school in our district who have programs such as the Health & Science academy (which I am in), engineering, culinary arts, welding, and more. With the academy I’m in, we have a chance to earn certifications that allow us to work in the medical field right out of high school. I have earn my EKG certificate, phlebotomy, and CPR just in my junior year of high school. Next year, I will be a senior and will be taking the EMT course. These certificates are important to me because they help me realize all the dedication and time I spent to learn more and more every day about the medical field, and that is what Moody is all about.
